Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning folks!

I don't know if you're aware of this, but I just found the COOLEST feature of Titanium Backup... virtually by accident!

Start up TiBU and look at the main screen. Now at the bottom of the screen is a readout telling you memory usage: System ROM and External+Media.

Tap on it.

TiBU will build a list of all your apps, sorted by memory usage! That way you can see what's eating all your memory up: in my case, it's messaging ( I clean it every so often with SMS Cleaner but it's still huge) after I clear data on Google Play Music -- which I do before every TiBU backup and nandroid.

Some of you probably have known all about this, but I didn't have a clue until I curiously tapped it this morning :)

Have a great Thursday!

Anyone here ever have knee problems? I just went to MedExpress for an ongoing problem. Their xrays showed nothing wrong bone wise. Now I'm just waiting on a call for Ortho. To me it feels like a tendon is getting caught on something. Pain is horrible when it happens!

Halon, it could be any number of things: it could be arthritis in the knee, or a bone spur or calcium buildup inside there. Ortho will be better able to pin it down, though.

First frost this morning. First snow in the alpine. Kind of early. And the lake looks like a horror movie:

Samsung is continuing to get on my nerves. Locking bootloader on the International S4 after people bout it unlocked, and now word is out that they're region locking any S2/3/4 or Note 1/2/3 made in or after July of this year. So in other words, you have to pay your carrier's extortionate roaming fees instead of popping in a foreign Sim if you travel to Europe, or Asia.

The locked bootloader is for their push into enterprise use.

Can't see how region locking would be related to that. :dontknow:

At least they've clarified themselves a little bit. To me, it actually seemed contradictory to lock bootloaders to push into enterprise and then block using foreign sims which would impeded enterprise usage. But it's not quite as bad as initial beliefs were. Though still not a trend I would want to continue because the thought of importing a phone has crossed my mind recently.

Does anyone use Open Mic+? Also, have you run it with the experimental feature of being activated while the screen is off? Seems to work just fine, but I imagine it's going to take a huge hit on battery life.

I use Open Mic+ and it works very well. I used the experimental "screen off" feature for one day and one day only: and Ginny's battery went from full to about 18% in 4 hours

Cool thing about it is that you can set the hotword... of course mine is "Hey Ginny" instead of "Okay Google Now".

But if you're charging your phone and have the developer option set to keep the screen on while charging, you can almost use your phone like a Moto X. Especially if you also have DynamicNotifications installed :)

Yeah, not sure if I see myself using it that much, so I'll keep the Dev. option off. :)
Also, I thought the Moto X could toggle things like BT, but this doesn't. Is that an app thing or a Google Now thing?
