Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

You take that back! ;)

Only a Padfone could make me switch, but I don't think I'd buy at launch. I'd have to make sure AT&T allows Asus to release is bootloader unlock tool for it. A locked bootloader, no matter the device, is a strict forbidden in my book.

The N5 is nice enough, but really, the battery life is terrible. I needed to have it plugged in at all times at work, and I was not comfortable with it on weekends when we are hardly ever home.

That's why I think the G2 is better than the N5.

Ive gotten 7 hours of screen on time over 19 hours with 11% remaining. Battery life has been phenomenal on this end ;)

I absolutely love my G2 - so happy I went with it.

BTW read this joke last night and I literally laughed for 5 minutes, so figured I'd share.
A bus stops and two Italian men get on.

They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following: "Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time."

"You foul-mouthed swine" retorted the lady idignantly. "In this country we don't talk about our sex lives in public!"

"Hey, coola down lady," said the man. "Who talkin' abouta sex? I'm a justa tellin' my friend how to spell a 'Mississippi'."

That is a rare experience, from what I've read. But good for you! 7 hours of screen time is fantastic.

Yeah, I did definitely like the screen, battery, and IR blaster on G2 over the N5. I get very similar battery on the N3 now, and the IR blaster is there. I didn't think I'd miss that, but I did! Love having a universal remote on my phone. :p

I know a couple of you have a LG G2 as well. I have a question.

My wife accepted the OTA for the VZW LG G2 and she just called me at work, that it's stuck at the TeamWin window. Anyone accept this OTA, or know how I can talk her through this. I think it's trying to install, and since recovery isn't matching what it's expecting, it isn't working.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I found a terminal command I could run from TWRP. All's right in the world for the wife again LOL

t mo is playing my song @ ces. I'm mad at vzw.

"It's fun to win, it's fun to hurt the other guys when we do it, but the big winner here is the customer."

Steven, is T-Mo a possibility for ya?
I've been meaning to get into a store and get a SIM for my Moto G and try out their service. Doubtful I'll leave Verizon, but nice to try the competition. :)

Word is that T-Mobile finally is buying some premium spectrum which should improve coverage drastically in and around the big metro areas. Too bad my city isn't one of them.

14 hours and no post? You're slacking, people!

Well, I keep checking T-Mo's coverage map, waiting for Manchester and the Home of Bonnaroo to go 4G. Considering that Morrison, TN (a rural town just 15 miles down the road) is a 4G hotbed, you'd think they would turn on Manchester, right?

:(

Alas, at my house it says "satisfactory" 3G coverage... meaning I can make calls and send texts (but only if I'm outside, one foot up, a roll of aluminum foil in my hand and waving it in the general direction of Morrison). And that's about it.

I even wrote them about it. If they turn on 4G LTE in Manchester, there's gonna be a mass exodus from Big Red, with the Chief family leading the charge.

On a personal note, I appreciate the prayers and well wishes for the Darling Bride. Finally got rid of the sister from Missouri Tuesday, as her peeps in Missouri needed her (and she needed them). So now it's a sister-in-law who helps more often than not... and a Darling Bride who's no better now than when this Sciatica started TWO WEEKS AGO.

I have an appointment with our doctor this morning, and you can bet your bottom dollar that the conversation will be all about getting her fixed. Her health affects my health... and it's stressful in ways I can't describe to watch someone you love crying in agony and there's nothing you can do about it.

Anyway, I really appreciate you folks. You guys have been a great sounding board for me; while I don't mean to drag anyone down with my drama, I'm glad you're here to listen :)

Have a great Thursday!

P.S. -

OMG what a drama updating my Note 3! I was on an MJE firmware ROM (Hyperdrive 5.5), but the Note 3 still had the old MJ7 baseband. It was causing all sorts of problems. Apparently the ONLY fix was to accept the OTA to MJE to update the baseband. Had to un-ROM, then un-root, factory reset twice, flash completely to stock via Odin, set up and take the OTA, factory reset AGAIN, set up again, root and ROM. Then restore. Holy smokes!

After 4 years of rooting and ROMming and generally trying to avoid OTAs, I never in my life thought I'd work so hard trying to RECEIVE one!

:p

Really hoping and praying your wife gets some relief soon Chief!

I'm in the same boat as you on T-Mo. If they had service here when we switched to AT&T 4 months ago, we would have went with them, but they didn't and still don't. If they ever get service here we are switching for sure!

Update on our boys, for almost 2 weeks straight now, they have slept really good at night only getting up once from 10PM to 6AM :) Mom and dad are getting sleep!!! Everyone is doing very good. My wife is almost back to full health with very little soreness. The boys are over 2 pounds up from birth weight and doing great :)

Good morning all - happy Thursday.

This week went by relatively quick considering its the first full week back in the office.
