Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Well, today I had a tweet favorited by John Legere, the boss of T-Mobile.

I went into Tmo store in NYC and the salesman told they've been mobbed with vzw defectors. He also told me that because legere lives in the neighborhood, he's stopped in a few times. #cool.

Did you finally make the switch?

My only regret is not waiting a tiny bit longer so that I could take advantage of the program where they pay people's ETF's.

But it was still worth it. I'm still amazed at the speeds I get, and call quality is great.

Agreed 100%. Once they rolled out LTE in my area this past June, I've been 1 happy camper. Though it would have been nice to have them eat some of my $610 etf.

Everyone is switching to T Mobile.

And I'm just sitting here waiting for them to make their service viable in my area.

I hadn't made the switch, but am thinking about it. John Legere has tapped into the frustration of subscribers of the big three carriers, who are more seemingly interested in their shareholders than their customers. That's the bottom line and the truth.

The real truth? If your customers and satisfy them? You satisfy the shareholders. That's the order it must be in.

By affecting AT&T, they should eventually affect Verizon. They tend to copy each other, so we'll see if that continues. Otherwise Verizon is going to look like the elephant in the room.

I'm not sure if this just happened today but At&t will let you out of a contract after 6 months, with a catch...of course. And Verizon now has a $20 Share Plan, but I think only 250mb of data. Both of these came out after the TM CES announcement. Both new plans suck. They both just keep offering junk. They have no clue.

And I just noticed that Verizon added to their Edge Plan...you can now upgrade after 30 days. You still have to have 50% of the phone paid off in those 30 days and you still turn the phone in for the new phone.

T-Mobile coverage map is now one of my favorites, but still no joy. I only have one phone still in contract with VZWorthless. My wife is on a used S3, and I'm still running the GNex. I know there are towers in my area that are leasing space to carriers, c'mon TMo

Gooooood morning everyone - nice 4 day work week.

Wasn't supposed to start snowing until noon, but it already has started. This should be an interesting commute home.

So much for the townhouse. I emailed the realtor last night asking him if Saturday was a good day to sign the papers and he informs me that the office decided to give it to the secretary. In the same email he offers a two bedroom for more money. I better be getting my $35 dollars back for the app! And now I have a pointless credit check!

Snow? I've been riding my motorcycle to work this week, and it's been awesome!

Although it is supposed to cool back down for the rest of the week starting tomorrow.

But it's awesome being back on the bike. Just have to get some new tires. These are cracked.

That's really annoying.

Apparently the cousin of my sister's boyfriend/husband is singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

All I know is she is an opera singer.

That is really neat!

Hope everyone stayed nice and warm yesterday and out of the snow. Decided to work from home due to the weekend / holiday train schedule they implemented. Glad I did - it took someone I know 3 hours to get into work yesterday, yikes.

So my app finally got reviewed by Apple, but got rejected because I forgot to implement a way for the user to "Restore In-App Purchases" which I totally started and just never put a button in for. So hopefully the re-submission of the application won't take as long to review as the original, but we shall see.

Almost Friday, woot.

THIS SUCKS!

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 KitKat update disables third-party accessories | Android and Me

Upshot is, Samsung requires KitKat-updated devices to use only Samsung accessories. Nothing else will work!

That's gonna complicate the KitKat ROM process big time.
See the link from AP:

Users can also install a new Xposed module that circumvents the block without doing case surgery, but that requires rooting the device if you haven't already.

Renee Fleming.. went to school with her @ Juilliard.

Renee Fleming.. went to school with her @ Juilliard.

No kidding? How about that.

She performed at IUP(Indiana,PA) last year and my sister and her bf/husband(I really have no idea which to call him) and they were invited. Both enjoyed it. Afterwards they were all invited to go on a tour of Indiana, but being that Indiana is a half-hour away from home they didn't go.

She studied with our teacher because she looked up to my wife and my wife told her she needed Beverley. Literally. No joke. Renee was one of the smart ones who listened. Others didn't.

Just fyi, Renee is as big as a star gets in the opera world. She has become historic.

Choral singers, eh?
My lady's two best friends were music grads from college. One was a teacher in elementary school the other is in Chicago helping with theater work. All amazing singers. :)
