Help Galaxy Notes 2 Photo to PC is so different!

Hi,

I just transferred my photos to PC and realized it looked so different from when I look at them on the Galaxy Note. Is this normal? How do we retain the quality of the photos seen on the phone to be the same when it was transferred to the PC???

Different how? Grainy or color issues?

I do not have an Android phone just yet but I have taken 100,000's of amateur photographs with my DSLR. I am wondering what quality issue you are having because I was hoping the Note2 would have a decent enough camera to get rid of that "I wish I had a real camera and not only my cellphone" moments.

The color of the pictures when viewed from note 2 looks very vibrant but when transferred to PC, they looked dull...wonder if there are any ways to make the photo look like how it look on the phone without going through major manual editing with special softwares..
 
You could get a SAMOLED HD monitor if they even make them. It's going to look different because you're looking at them with different kinds of screens. The color on SAMOLED screens (like the one on the Note/GS3/etc) are known to have overly vibrant colors, so you're going to notice that that is gone on any other screen.
 
hmm....so bottom line....Samsung camera is not as good as it seems but only because of their screen? Ah....this is bad...
 
I wouldn't call it that. It's more that your eyes are used to how over saturated the colors look on the phone so they seem bad looking on a computer.
 
are you sure its not your computer screen?? I recently transferred a load of pics from my 14mp camera to laptop and was gutted at the quality - but when I opened them up on my HD TV they look superb!

It's funny, cuz it's usually been the opposite with the Photon... Lol. Then again, the photon screen isn't as good as current phones.
 
I just uploaded a pic just to see what the fuss was about, and my samsung S23A700 monitor reproduced it very well, no visible difference to be honest.
 
the picture (file) did not change.. moving or copying it to another location.

the difference is the type of screen you are looking at... phone, monitor, etc...quality and settings.

If you were expecting a CELL PHONE camera to be a descent as a standalone camera let alone a digital SLR, you were asking for a major dissapointment.

These photographs were just taken by me to prove a point....they have not been photoshopped or altered in any way. In the GN2 camera it looks amazing, on my pc it looks good, like many have said you are looking at 2 totally different screens and screen sizes, we usually do not have our pc's set at the highest brightest levels like we do our phones.

The camera on the GN2 is very good

The default display mode on the Note II is "Standard" which makes all the colors really vibrant. It is also a 8MP picture on a small screen so everything is really sharp. Now if you display the same picture on a bigger, lower resolution per inch, screen and with the display mode set to normal or movie (most TV are set to movie) mode, you will see some differences.

I have to say that the Note II screen is very forgiving on slightly blurry or out of focus pictures. :p
 
Honestly, the quality of the camera was never really that important a factor to me...until I got the Note 2. This is by far the best camera, especially the OEM camera app, that I've ever had on a phone. Before, I'd take pictures here and there, not really wanting to use up battery life for those purposes, especially because of the so-so quality pictures. With the Note 2, that's no longer the case. And what a waste it would be not to take advantage of all the cool features that the Note 2 has in the OEM camera app.

My favorite by far is the Panorama shot! Although it'd be cool to have the 360 panorama that the Nexus camera app has, this is definitely good enough for me. Take a look of this pic I took, while touring my cousin and his girlfriend around L.A. This is from the famous Santa Monica Pier (and luckily, it got a little overcast when I took the pic). FYI - I'm awful at taking pictures.

When I take photos on my phone they look fabulous on the screen, but once I dl to the computer they look blurry/grainy. Anyone else have this problem or know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks I tried searching and could not find my answer.

And I do have a REAL camera btw.
It is not my computer screen either. There is something wrong. I will try adjusting the settings see if that makes a difference.

I should add my 2.5 yo EVO 4g had the exact opposite problem. pics looked ok on screen and a lot better on computer.
 
Here is just a quick sample of what I am talking about. I don't expect the pics to amazing or anything, but they seem to have gotten a lot worse recently when uploading to my computer. This photo looked sharp on the phone, but looks grainy here. The photo comp is terrible it's just a quick example of something I had readily available.

You might have look at the photo's resolution on the phone and on the PC, have both photos the same resolution?

Use 'Details' with the photo's menu.
