I have been able to increase my battery life to 24 hours per charge with moderate use, and up to 48 hours with light use, by combining a bunch of the tips that I have read in Android Forums, and elsewhere.

The Prevail includes the Android "Power Widget", which makes it easy to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Synch. I use the free ""DataSwitch" widget to turn off 3G. I manually turn off "locations" and "Google Maps".

The Prevail works fine for phone calls and texting with ALL of the listing apps turned OFF. To use the internet, or to download my Gmail, I toggle on Wi-Fi and Synch for a few minutes. If Wi-Fi is unavailable, I toggle on 3G. When I have finished using the internet, I turn Wi-Fi and 3G off.

Likewise, if I need to use "Google Navigation", I turn on GPS, 3G, and "Google Maps". When I have finished, I turn them all back off.

After I have used the internet, I use the Android "Task Manager" that is included with the Prevail. I press "RAM Manager", "Level 2" and "Clear Memory". Keeping RAM use under 160mb enables the Prevail to use less battery power, and Apps respond quickly with lagging or freezing.

I keep the screen brightness set at about 20% indoors, which works fine unless I am sitting next to a window.

All of these tips are generally known, but it took me several months to learn to combine them together to get 48 hours of battery life.

Of course, just a couple of hours of watching VEVO videos with 3G will drain the Prevail's battery to zero. My 48 hours per charge involves a few short phone calls, ten or twenty text messages, downloading Gmail two or three times per day, and checking news headlines and weather two or three times per day.

My Prevail had the OTA 2.3.5 update, and now has the newer 2.3.6 OTA update. Although my battery life has been better lately, I think the cause is keeping unused apps turned off, and is not a result of the updates.

Cut and Paste from Beginner's guide:

2. Battery life is at a premium (some people have to recharge every 12 hours)

Turn off GPS, wi-fi, sync, Bluetooth as much as possible; there is a great stock widget for easy access. Watch for battery draining apps that might update too often (email). You can easily get 1-3 days from a battery charge if you

As well as the excellent advice offered, which I also use, I have found a battery saver app listed within the App Market, or Google Play as I suppose everyone knows by now! Anyway the app is called "Battery XL", And has been a great help in saving power. It has a customized user interface settings for maximum benefits. Check it out, it will help on the battery consumption!
