Root Galaxy S Rooted (THAT WAS FAST)

Same question from me... Is there a posibbility that I can't upgrade to Froyo after applying this root and Can I get everything back if needed.
Also Samsung is announcing Froyo update to be one-click :)

Yep I'm in the same boat. Waiting to see if Froyo takes care of the lag problem because that's the only reason I have to actually root it.

HURRY UP FROYO!!! :D

There's a bit of debate over whether you will have to unroot and remove the LAG fix before upgrading to FROYO (when available). Providing you use RyanZA one click LAG fix (you can download it from the market) when you need to remove the LAG fix and unroot prior to upgrading to FROYO, you can.

Best advice I would recommend is unrooting and removing LAG fix prior to FROYO upgrade. (it will only take a couple of minutes so it's better to be safe than sorry)

I had a quick look on youtube and watched a video of the LAG fix being applied prior to installing myself and it has made a world of difference to my Galaxy S, to the extent where I'm no longer desperate for FROYO.

My personal experience was that it worked 1st time, no glitches, no hiccups, but as always guys, any modifications carry a risk so if you are unsure or wary, just wait for the official upgrades (hopefully shouldn't be too long)

cheers

Just don't use this lag fix if you want a working phone afterwards, killed mine.

Not happy. :mad::mad::mad:

Just got the galaxy s and i have to say, i love it. The only downside is all the bloatware that you get with the phone. All the apps that you CAN'T delete. This really frustrates me as I'm a neat freak.

Can anyone recommend a method of removing these. Or perhaps a custom rom i could install? I'm an engineering technologist in electronics so I have no doubts in my abilities. I do this for a living, on industrial generator controls :)

thanks everyone!

the tablet just shows me an error message, I try a hard reset and I can not restore it, or know someone has some options available to restore my tab galaxy?

Hi guys,

I'm planning to move to an Android phone from the iPhone once I can get the cash together. I'm liking the Galaxy S but have read that Samsung have a poor track record of updating the OS. I don't think they'll update beyond Froyo.

If I buy one and root it, does that mean I can install future versions of Android on it as they are released, or only if someone in the community makes a version specific to the Galaxy S?

Also, my other alternative is an HTC. Which manufacturer do you think is a better choice?

thanks :)

there is already a leaked version of gingerbread for Galaxy S. The only developer, that I know of, who's working on it is Darky. So i'm pretty sure my Galaxy S will eventually have gingerbread.

try titanium backup to remove bloatwares. But be careful there are some apps that could mess up your phone if deleted. Usually those are the apps from google, not your provider.
