Help Galaxy S2 update issue

Hello there,

I'm trying to update my Galaxy S2 I9100, which has Android version 2.3.3 via Kies in windows 7 64 bit. After I connect my phone via USB I see unknow error.

I went to event viewer there i found 2 errors.
1)

This looks like a .NET problem. if you have .NET 3.5 SP1 or 4, try installing them, and reboot to see if that solves your problem.
 
I'm a .Net developer, I don't think it is problem with .Net.

I have re-installed Kies many times... but it did not help

This is the error which I see

You'll probably be able to pinpoint the problem more accurately by checking the .NET framework logs as to whats causing the problem.

Note: After doing a little reading, try changing your current Windows profile and see if that problem resurfaces.
 
Have you tried reinstalling the Kies drivers for the phone?
Also check if your usb cable and ports are working good.
Maybe you should contact Samsung support?

Hi there.

Your error code refers to a file "KiesPDLR.exe." Navigate there and look for KiesPDLR.exe.config. Open this file in notepad. You will see an XML value referring to .NET framework 4.0... delete this tag, leaving only the tag for .NET 2.0, eg:

<startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true">
<supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>
</startup>

Save and close, then mark the file read-only so it can't be overwritten by Kies.

You may have to repeat this process for other files. I had to change three before I could finally update my phone.

Hi, Ive been suffering from this for so many months, tried reinstalling, JVM,.NET FW.

If you look closely to the error it says .AccessViolation.

I tried opening Keis with "Run as Administrator" and voila.
Hope that helps
