Help galaxy s2 update

i bought a galaxy s2 a month ago...the model is I9100....the problem is that i can't find any update option in the about phone option in the settings....can anyone help me with this....

It should be the first option at the top of the About screen.

It should be in Settings/About Phone/software update.

"About phone" is located at the bottom of the settings page so just scroll down.

You might not get OTA updates if your service provider sites not support it. Kies should be the normal method for official firmware updates.

i checked there but its not there....and i bought an unlocked phone not on contract

Iirc early 2.3.3 firmwares didn't have the OTA option, which isn't used by anyone other than Vodafone anyway. Install Kies and check for updates using that.
