Galaxy S3 news and more !!

my wife just got back from the training they had on the gs3.
nothing new. price 499. and release date, they hope before november lol
i hope they lied to keep it a secret.:confused:
 
Lol I just got back from a MetroPCS store... I asked the lady that works there when are they getting the S3 and she said in 2 or 3 Weeks. Also I called another location and the salesman there said maybe in a week or 2. This is total BS!!!

All I am saying is that, whoever say I could slap them if its not out by tomorrow...make sure you in Orlando to get that slap lol lol and I want to take a pic too and post it here :D
 
Screen protectors got to my house yesterday, lol. Now I have the case and screen protectors but no phone, lol too funny. At least "trainings" are taking place.

It was me, got damn mofo Metropcs now what happen lets see tomorrow I guess I will have to take the slap with the shoe looks like u can't even trust a got damn Metropcs official damn manager. Going to check Metropcs website much as I can and wait outside in early morning and if its not there I will slap that manager with my pinga

FWIW there are 4 different vids on YouTube on replacing a S3 screen.

The major issue appears to be the stout adhesive on the back of the digitizer used to hold it down. A heat gun is required to warm up the frame enough for the adhesive to release so you can get the screen off. (Even then you pretty much destroy it getting it off.) Several small parts need to come out as they don't handle the heat well.

The guy I watched took about 30 minutes to get all the old screen out, new one in but not the final reassembly, I'd guess another 10-15 min there maybe.

Possibly the hardest part might be getting the right screen from Fleabay. There appear to be screens being sold as S3 screens that aren't the right ones.

The obvious better answer is to stay within warranty (which taking it apart would void) or have a pro do it under warranty but the job certainly appears to be somewhat home doable.

(I'm losing it. Watching a 30 min phone repair vid for a phone I'm not even getting <unless I win one>.)
