Top posters so far in the S3 Hole. Looking slightly skewed towards a few individuals. ;)

I believe the amount of posts in this particular thread.... is directly proportionate to the time in the S3 WH....
Treb was first, then me.... then X etc....

Am I missing something Dread?

Honestly...never understood why people give a damn about post counts #'s .

Ok, OK, OK. Trying to enjoy my Bailys here. Then my phone starts glowing red.

'zup boys?

Just to go on the record, my name is Rachel and i'm a post whore. There, I said it.

Do I feel this is interfering with RL? Nope, I come and go regularly and enjoy the fact we can all drop in and run for a while.

Treb, you pulled us all together. There's folks from all over the world socializing and having fun and it's a hole you started.

I love it here, I feel like I've made some good friends here.

So, join me in your alcoholic beverage of choice (or coffee) and let's have one hell of a big group hug.

Love you guys n gals!

For all of our post happy people .... gotta love us!

totally off the wall random PC thought:

Been thinking about a new PC. Been for a while. Want something very compact and powerful. Probably something that will not need updated for a while. I can build another windows 7 (64bit this time) or buy a mac mini for something even smaller. And do a couple minor upgrades. And dual boot the sucker.

I mean, apple is doing some crap moves lately, but I cant find what I want size wise for PCs.

I just need a new HD. Seeing that dreaded message NTLDR not found kinda sealed its fate.

Hah, you seen how much I drink round here?

*looks up divorce lawyers in Houston area in preparation for Moma'Lin's tab*

Ah... and a true friend you are.... What finding me a divorce lawyer and all.... I'm working on my diminished level of sobriety myself. What a day. Glad it's almost over!

I remember that stage. About 6PM...

My day was Monday. Then Monday decided it hadn't been evil enough so it brought its friend Tuesday along for the ride.

Thankfully Wednesday cuddled up to me and came my friend. Here's hoping Thursday's yours Moma'Lin!

PC chat

256 gb SSD - 200
Case (Lian Li Mini ITX) 150 (give or take)
The Asus Mini mobo) - 200
8gb ram - 100 (give or take)
The i7 chip, totally overkill, top of the line in its class, 330 bucks.

Rough total: 980 bucks...

Oh, forgot the power supply, that pushes it past 1K.

If I go i5 (top of the line in its class, I save 100 bucks).

A cheaper case, mobo and chip can be found, I am sure.

The mac mini, with an i5 chip, under 600 for the base model and I would have enough left over for some tweaks.

Go for 16GB at least. And an i7. It'll last you longer. Mine has and it's over 2 years old. Once I slap a new SSD in it'll be good as new.

The mac mini server comes in under a grand with an i7 chip. The server option can be disabled, I believe. Not sure. I really dig the footprint of the mini.

I could save more, I guess by keeping my case but its getting old and starting to lose pieces.

Not sure. I do know my current PC draws a LOT of power and turning it on causes my lights to flicker a bit.

Paid $900 for mine 2 years ago when the i7s were still gleaming new. Ran Sql Server 2008, 2012, Visual Studio and 2 VMware servers without the box even beginning to sweat. The quad core i7s provided the raw power and the 16GB provided the large footprint for everything to run in.

It'll scream with the new SSD!

Where? What happened?

Ok, that's it. You folks and all your bantering too and forth tonight have exhausted me. :D

So, I'm gonna leave the lights on in the place for any stranger that wants to wander on in. It's the honor system here so please pay for what you eat n drink. All proceeds go to pay for Treb's Acura. :)

Night all!
