uggghh I really wish folks would avoid chains and eat at more local joints that use fresh local produce vs. frozen pre-portioned ingredients.

Here farm shops are expensive, it's a big shame because the big supermarkets drive dish the prices so much the lil guys can barely compete.

Here we don't have local farm shops in the winter. Have to wait for spring when the farmer's markets start again.

Some farmers here are forced to use glass or polythene tunnels, simply because of the weather, but supermarkets just import all year round for dirt cheap. It's disgraceful really.

But you can taste the difference! I rather pay more for a good quality food than get it off season.

We haven't had a Kroger's here in 30 years. They all got pushed out for what they call "progress". Now when you grocery shop, it is Walmart, Meijer's or nothing.
