My job :D

Lolz

Well that was a crappy F1 race. Was great until team orders came into it, obviously Mercedes are playing up and cashing in on having a star driver. As for Vettel, well, that guy needs a life, once a **** always a ****. ****ing ****. :(

Perfect job, eh?
Well, my goal is really to open a proper bread bakery in DC which is sorely lacking in one. We have a couple okay ones (Pain Quotidien which is a chain), but nothing really small, local and focused on great French style bread like the bakeries I've worked for. I've a couple potential backers for this since we have next to nothing in money ourselves. Will be working on a business plan soon, hoping it can become a reality. My wife is really concerned because I'm just not terribly happy where I'm working now and it's not doing anything to help my career. Aside from decent pay and benefits, really, it's not much.

Do it! Wish I could help out financially :( I love those quaint, artisan bakeries. We have lots of those over here :D

When I worked and lived in California they were everywhere and awesome! DC just doesn't have any and I feel like there's a burgeoning market for it. Hoping I can make it a reality.

Wife just got another substantial raise too! We need to start looking for a house to buy as well. Bah, real life.:)

Good morning!

Hey Dread, can you bake be fine of that French bread from NOLA? I would love to make a decent poboy!

X coffee is coming right up :)

Dude how much backing you need for something like that?

That's the thing, I really don't know. :o
My wife's boss who owns the catering company may be interested, along with a former boss and consultant I've worked with. I'm not looking for complete control but would like the majority.
We looked at a couple small spots on a very busy strip near our apartment yesterday. :)
When I left the bakery in Kansas years ago the head baker was very sincere in telling me if I was ever to open something to give him a holler. Problem is, I don't know where he is. Have to track him down.

Too much sugar. I don't like some food products from the US because it's almost always too sweet.

That's because you buy commercial. If you buy more holistic or organic it's not so bad.
And it depends on the region and food your eating well. Pizza in California can't compare to pizza in NY.... etc

I have no way to back you to open Dread but I'll certainly plan a trip just to come support you when it becomes a reality. (Notice I used when, not if :))

Morning everyone!!

On the first day of the new bromance between treb and me, just wanted to leave this right here. Please read back if you're lost. It is vital to the survival of the thread.
