For what it's worth, keeping in mind my S3 is Unrooted,

When I rooted my portal, CynogenMod was the bees knees.

It's grown up since them days, but as I always say, "what do you want your phone to do that it doesn't already?"

As a fairly blind stab in the dark, I would suggest CynogenMod as I think it's a great rom to start out with. I ended up using it for 18 months and loved it with all its extra features.
