That might be the reason for high heals :p

Yeah, that one.

You could probably fit a pint in these! ;)

Or a cherry tree.
Dread will be more than willing to share his magnificent walnut cherry bread recipe. You could give that to your mom, along with the tree ;)

Hmmm, still trying to figure out something for my mom. :hmmmm2:
She'll actually be in town for my nephew's Christening so I don't have to ship anything. Maybe I'll check around town today.

No idea what to get her either. Mothersday is celebrated with mixed feelings here since my bro passed away two years ago. Left me as only child.

Taking her to a Joe Cocker concert this friday but that ticket was a x-mas gift ;)

Sorry to hear about that, Kaat. :(
My mom is still big into Mother's Day while my dad could care less about Father's Day (a phone call suffices :)).

Haha. Marco's dad is that easy too.

Still need to find the right way to deal with it. My mom cannot help it, being reminded of her loss on those days. Me having the urge to spoil her double now ;)

Problem with a cherry tree is they need a female and male to pollinate. They work so much better in orchards. A 10 ft pear tree would work way better, since I can actually fit 2 ' ;)

Mine is solo and giving enough cherries for this street to eat from.

I have a female Ginkgo Tree in my front yard that produces the most awful smelling fruit?or actually I think it's technically a nut? I didn't plant it...the city I live in planted some of them years and years ago ..we call them stink bombs..they literally smell like dog doo! The fruit drops in the fall.Apparently they are commonly eaten in Asian countries . One of my neighbors comes and gathers them and roasts them and she made me try one once ..I'm not a fan..
but I AM thinking of charging her $$ for my next stink bomb harvest!! ;):D:D

Got any fruit bushes?

I have a peach tree , watermelon, cantaloupe, and strawberries, oh and a lemon tree.

The only way that can happen is if it's a hybrid tree. Not a big problem of course, but I have a heirloom non GMO garden. Hence why I would want a tree that could cross pollinate. Of course of you have other cherries in a closer proximity, that wouldn't be a problem.... but I know for a fact I don't.

Uh, no thank you.....

Gooseberries are really sour, but go well with something like apple in a crumble. Tae and loganberries are similar to raspberries, so I doubt you'd like them much, on another note, Rhubarb is dead easy to grow :)

That goes into jam or a pie correct?

Yummy, berries!

Got a cherry and apple tree in the front yard (and a 30 cm high peach :o)
Apple, cherry, strawberries, blue grapes and plums in the back. And herbs. Will get some tomato, chillies and peppers this week.

Jam, pure, curd, stewed, you can use it as you would any other berry type fruit

I have broccoli but the problem is it's so hot, in seeding them in a few weeks for a fall harvest. I do have a ton of tomatoes and beans. My fall will be asparagus, broccoli, collards, winter lettuce and carrots to start. Oh and I'm trying corn this year.

Cool, sounds good, tried beans last year but they got eaten by slugs n snails, also tired cucumber but they didn't work out, so i'll just stick to berries and chilli's

My cucs and beans are doing fabulous. I actually am picking beans this weekend for Sunday supper.

Have you tried soap? To ward off the slugs

Farmer's Market was really low key. Understandable being this early in the season. Only one vendor with fresh veggies (greens, spring garlic, radishes etc). She said the reason being as virtually the rest of them are from PA while she's from VA where the season is further along. :)
Hoping to see some peas next week!
Well, with the few veggies I picked up, looks like it'll be omelets and potatoes/bacon for dinner. :D

Bah!!!! Bread stuck to my pan. :(

May either pick up a new, heavier duty bread pan or work better at greasing it. At least what is left tastes pretty good. :o
