So I have been looking at the console emulator on the marketplace and I have a few questions.. First of all do you need rooted phone to do that.. I don't know much about rooting but I heard it voids warranty so I would never do that
.. Second of all to get the game roms for the console do I ned to use my computer to download then or is there anyway to get them without a computer and rooting the phone thanks bye

I only have the GBA emulator and it's never asked for superuser (root) premissions.

You basically make a folder on your SD card (int or ext) called ROMS if you want and load all your legally owned games there.

So yeah you need a computer, you don't need one but it'll be 110% easier

I have NESoid, SNESoid, and a few others. You don't need a computer either, unless you want PSX games, just download ROM gripper and you're set.

Of course, I only have back ups of my own games.

The legality of downloading game ROMs, whether the original is owned or not, is a "grey area". To keep Android Forums in the clear, please refrain from posting links to either download sites or apps which facilitate access to the same.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Isn't appbrain a google owned site? I thought everything there was legit. Sorry!

Appbrain isn't owned by Google. It's a third-party site/app that provides a different interface to the official Android Marketplace.

The actual Android Marketplace is run by Google but is not policed very much. There are scam, illegal, and even malicious apps that have appeared and persist there. It's the alternative to the sort of app market Apple runs with their over-policing.
