Introducing ILLUSIA, Classes and Strategy, Fighter/Magician Class guides!

Not really sure how you can call the magician's PDF a guide. It isn't a guide at all, just a description of the class and spells. It doesn't offer attribute/ability allocation suggestions at all.


This game is also riddled with bugs that make it pretty frustrating in some circumstances. A mage that is invisible does not move with moving platforms...the platofrm moves and the mage doesn't...then falls to whatever is below.

The sandworm boss is bugged to hell. If you cast invisible the worm somehow teleports to your location and will continue to do so until you are no longer invisible. His undergroun/re-appear below you attack still hits you even if you are in the air - frustrating.

The control pad continually moves while playing the game forcing me to continually reset it too default, the buttons get "stuck" and force the character to continue to move (or jump) in the "stuck" direction. Occasionally there is also a delay in button presses.

Would love to see this plus stuff I haven't even come across yet fixed. I'm a big fan of Gamevil (love the zenonia/baseball superstars games) but this is the first game I got that has been so buggy.

That's fantastic, I can't get upset wit the price because I feel when you produce quality games you deserve the earrings just glad for the ones who can't pick up a good game like this for whatever financial reason can now enjoy it

I posted on my blog about it already and im really loving the game! Brings back memories of Lemmings but then in a fresh approach. Surprised to see it being available for free to be honest.
 
I played 2009 a little and enjoyed it, when i tried 2010 i hated the changes. So far i am enjoying 2011, i have been playing my league as the batter. Just got halfway through season3 and lost due to "permanent injuries" i noticed that my player was panting between each game, i could not figure out what was the problem. I spent g points to get my mprale up from 54 to 94, but they dropped 17 after the next game and 12 from the next. I lost in the next break. I previously tried going for treatment and it said not injured.

I guess the game just decided I was getting too good on my first player! And wanted me to start over.
 
for some reason this double posted, so I am going to change this one to something else...

I was playing 2011 and my league mode, when my player broke his arm or what ever (as mentioned above), now I can not play my league any more. everytime I try to go in and play with a different player it just starts me right at my old player breaking his arm and asking me to pay 5000 Gpoints to bring him back. So far I've only earned 1200G points, so no way I can do that... I really like the my league mode, but now I can no longer play it. any suggestions?

I have moved on to season mode in the mean time in hopes I can earn the Gpoints, I was able to add my league player to my season team, but still cannot start a new my league game. I will try to earn 5k G points and see if I can get out of the loop... but seems like a bug. I went to the gamevile forums to post about it, but there is no "create an account" link, so I cannot post. I tried logging in anyway to see if the "failed login" page had a link to create an account, but it does not either.

I still do not fully understand the game engine, and cannot find instructions anywhere. just in case someone reading here can answer, some questions/comments I have are:

1. when the game displays an arrow pointing up or down and says hit, power, speed, accuracy, are you supposed to hold that direction on the virtual d-pad? tap it? tap it really fast?

2. base stealing question, is there more than one way to activate base stealing? sometimes during batting I want the runner on third to charge home, but cannot tap him as the virtual d-pad is too big and covers the runner. when I attempt to tap the runner I instead move my batter to the left some... it would be great to have an option to resize the d-pad, or at least select from 3 or 4 different types/sizes.

3. when I move my batter left or right and I swing and either foul or get a strike, does the batter recenter for the next pitch? I cannot tell if the batter keeps his position or not.

4. on the slower game speeds during batting,
a. it is really annoying when the game allows you to swing after the pitch has been caught by the catcher, ie pitcher throws, I decide not to swing, then after the ball is received by the catcher I accidentally tap the swing button and the batter swings, it is a strike instead of a ball. On the faster game speeds this does not happen (the input window is too small for the input to be registered, this is a good thing)
b. if you accidentally swing before the pitcher even releases the ball you are stuck standing there like an idiot and cannot swing again
c. the batter animation as he gets ready for the pitch is too late, he doesn't get ready until the pitcher releases the pitch, this is very distracting when playing on a tablet as the batter is a good 1"+ tall on the screen.

5. when I started the season game last night, my super batter was Medica, but her stats were 125 - 200 points lower than all the rest of the players on my team and upgrading her to level 2 would cost just short of 24,000Gpoints, and the upgrade is still 50-125 points lower than the rest of the team! by the time I could earn 24k Gpoints, my team will probably be a good 100+ point ahead of where they are now, making Medica completely useless in season play. (as an fyi I picked the Hawks for both my league and season modes). sees a bit useless to even have the super batter

6. I feel like the baseball field is cramped, not enough space between bases, the outfield is kinda short, the players throws cover too much ground too fast, and the freaking fielders can jump 20' in the air to catch a fly ball! not to mention it is really easy to line drive to the fence, but just about impossible to bounce the ball over it, even in the corners where the short metal railing is sitting... just a thought...

7. personally I have a hard time at batting, as it is impossible to determine if a pitch will be a ball or a strike most of the time. This is because the pitch can change directions by up to 180 degrees after it has already passed the front edge of the batters box, also the super pitchers super abilities are pretty much impossible to time for many of them, the only good news is that they don't user their super pitches every pitch, usually only for about 6 pitches consecutively.

8. how is it possible to have a pop up ball hit by the batter, caught by the catcher, in the batters box! never ever happens in baseball, now a foul tip could go straight back to the catcher, but the catcher is never going to get a change to catch a popup inside the batters box. happened to me 9 times in one game last night.

9. sometimes when batting, I hit the swing button and nothing happens, when I move my finger a bit to look at the button underneath (without picking my finger up all the way), I can see the button is highlighted in yellow so it knows I pressed it. This is true even if I hit the button REALLY early.

10. got another issue, why would the coach ask you to do a sacrifice bunt with a runner on first and one or more outs? You should never bunt (without an 800+ run skill!) when it is possible to have a double play situation, one out or less and runners on first and third maybe, but not with a runner on first only, or first and second. But I hate losing the missions over such a stupid choice, when I'm down 2 - 5 I sure as you know what will not be doing a sac bunt that might end in a double play!

11. ok, one more, then I'll stop editing this post! I really hate it when you have a batter that gets the "tap up for a power boost" and the pitcher doesn't pitch but tries to catch a guy stealing instead and I end up sending my other base runner to his demise by accident. normally happens when I am about to lose a game by 1 run or 2.

12. I know it is only a game, but proportionally the fielders are diving a good 20'-30' when they dive to catch a ball and so far not one has made a dive and missed the catch (granted dives happen closer to once or twice a game if at all)


Over all a fun game, I have spent a good 8-10 hours on it, and will spend a good 40 or so more hours playing it, just like I did with 2009. But I still don't understand much of the game mechanics and it hinders my ability to play the game. Yes I have checked the help, but there is not much in there besides "tap the swing button to hit the ball" or "tap the bases to make the runners steal".

I am playing Baseball Superstarts on my Notion Ink Adam, running the Beast Rom v2.2.1 with no compatibility issues.

Which is fine, it just means one has to explore alternate methods to monetize on Android. So long as devs can get the downloads, that will lead to money soon enough (but, it will take a sizeable amount of downloads!)

Speak for yourself cheapskate. I buy lots of games and apps and would be more than willing to pay for this game to get rid of the ads and support the developer.

Uh, the guy you're talking to is a developer, and I've lost count of the number of outraged comments I've seen on the Market the moment any developer decides to switch from a free beta or similar to a paid version, or God forbid, a freemium. 'omg how dare you i dont pay for apps give me ads' is the least of it - the Cordy comments after they went freemium pretty much made me sick, for one. I don't care if there's no reliable way of collating the evidence: I'm comfortable saying the vast majority of Android users (i.e. not the people who regularly post on forums like this) want their games free, with hundreds of levels, and they don't want the developers to charge for any of it. It's a huge reason Angry Birds is so popular.

And I've racked up something like a hundred purchases despite having had this phone less than half a year, nor have I ever pirated a single app. Just blocking any possible accusations I'm a hypocrite.

EDIT: Mods, I'm aware this is a tangent, so sorry about that. Delete or move as necessary. Just 'Speak for yourself' annoyed me a lot. Uh... Kami Retro seems very good! I'd certainly pay for an ad-free version.
 
Downloaded, not a bad game would like to have an ad free version to buy, the ad can block part of the level which may hinder placement prior to dropping the first guy. Also some of the colors could be better defined, the green platform in front of a green background is hard to see perhaps adding to texture to one of the two areas would assist.
 
I would gladly pay to remove the ads. But, I stumbled across a way to disable the ads before releasing the "Kamis". Just tap the pause button, then tap the green play button and the ads will disappear, which allows you to see the entire level before you decide where to place the "props."

I'm loving this game. The later levels are old-school hard!

And Daveloft, while I honestly wish that more people shared your attitude (re: paying for things), the harsh reality is that it is not the case and therefore other methods of monetization must be found. The trick is to find a method that will make the developer reimbursed for his work, without angering the consumer. I'm working on it ;)

Anyway, in my own app's case, to prove a point:

2010 release on iPhone - $1000 sales in the first month, $2.99
(w/ feature-stripped free demo, ~1000 DLs)

2011 release on Android - $200 sales in the first 2 months, $1.99
(ad-supported, free unlockable full version - 15,000 DLs)

2011 release was rebuilt from the ground up with all-new HD assets, UI, and new modes.

Yeah iOS is a better platform for devs of paid games too much piracy on android sadly. Find a warez site and you will find threads that are 10+ pages long with people trying get around DRM for gameloft games, spectral souls, SPB shell 3D and other apps it is sad that so many people willing to pay $100s for a phone and not willing to spend $2 for a game
 
ok, well I was wrong about a few things...
This is why I don't like the 15 minute refund policy by google (or 0 minute refund policy by amazon).

after about 24 hours of play time on 4 - 6 days, I figured out a lot of things in BS2011.
first and foremost, don't do anything in game but start a batter in "my league" then quit out and do the HR mode until you have 20k-30k Gpoints. then go back into "my league" and buy yourself a super player. you can max a batter out on all stats for about 30k Gpoints or a little more. And my batter with 346 hit and 283 power was able to do 6-9 homeruns out of 10 pitches. All you have to do is get the ball to hit the Gamevil signs in the stands. Auto 2k Gpoints right there, each time you hit it.

also, I tried slowing the game down all the way, and resolved some of my complaints about the system, and fielding. also bored the crap out of me! I do play it now at 1 bump up from the slowest setting and have a great time doing so! Although the game runs so fast and smooth on my Notion Ink Adam that I have not yet been able to read a single one of the hints during the loading screens.

The sac bunt issue is possible with a run that has a decent run skill and you tell them to steal before you bunt, but really makes no sense to me.

playing the HR game got me to notice the touching the swing button and nothing happening a lot more, to the point that it happens 1-3 times per 10 pitches (sometimes). I have shut my Adam off tonight (first time in over a month, intentionally) and will see if it was just a system reboot being needed.

I would like to add to #1 does that bonus only last for the one pitch? or more than one?

still having a hard time batting, but I have so many Gpoints now that I ALWAYS have eagle eye active. helps a bit, but not with pitchers that have poor accuracy.
