Root GAOSP Public BETA 2 released

as far as I see camera is the only important feature not working, right?

I'm curious about battery life also?
 
I'd like to try it and answer questions, but I probably won't be able today. I read it was slow though, even at 710Mhz. Camera isn't working, and I'm not so sure about the rest, you should check the changelog or something.

Just got GAOSP B2 running, this thing is beautiful, finally the phone is up-to-date in features like other android phones in the market. Drakaz and everyone working on GAOSP really deserve an applause...

Anyone having trouble with the GAOSP_Addons needs to use the multiupload link which is also posted on Drakaz's main page. No problems with those links at all.

A few FC's here and there, but totally worth having a nice phone...
 
Its very slow... beta2. I have 2 big problem. 3d Gallery is not working and Music.
Music Player don`t find my media in phone storage, I have 500 mp3... Is not solution to add manually mp3.
3D gallery can not open picture. Remain stuck.
 
Speed is going to be slower than galax0 builds, even with overclock to 710mhz. Try it out. Do a nandroid backup, it really is alot of nice features... This is not perfect, but the team has made a lot of progress...

Edit: some task are quick while others may take longer.
 
Just would like to add:

As you use the phone, things seem to not take a while to load up as they do when you first use them. Disabling animations helps significantly....
 
Ok guys, two questions which aren't answered by just looking at the howto:
- is there any specific release which is needed in order to be able to flash GAOSP B2 (currently have xxjb2)
- which version of recovery do we need to use, and where to find it

You need Recovery 5 which can be found with instructions on the GAOSP site forums section.
 
Confirming speed issue goes away after usage. Seems only to be slow during first few start-ups and usages. After tweaking the AWDLauncher to stay in memory all the time and removing a few effects and desktops, compcache, and disabling animations everything is smooth.

I tipped Drakaz 10Euro too to keep him and the team motivated : )
 
Does anyone know if the recovery can be updated to 5 from 4.6.3 by just replacing the RECTOOLS.tar.gz file without the need to re-flash the recovery image?

Yes, that all you need to do, replace the RECTOOLS. No need for the extra stuff. I just replace it straight from my computers drive explorer.

In any case why would you want to keep 4.6.3? It seems as though there won't be any more further updates for Galaxo and Gaosp seems to be the main focus point for Drakaz
 
Someone have Music Player bugs ?
In my case Music Player can`t scan my mp3.
3D gallery is not working, anyone this bugs?

How can I uinstall ADW Launcher ?
 
Music Player Works. The Gallery (not sure about 3d, is it the same as opening the normal gallery icon??) works... Did you flash the update.zip and then the proper GAOSP_Addons??? Followed instruction as posted by drakaz???
 
Woohoo!! This is excellent news indeed!

I'll be watching this thread very closely. Please keep posting your thoughts, and I intend to tip Drakaz myself as soon as I can (which I'd really been meaning to do for Galax0 as it is...)
 
Battery life is poor but that will probably improve as they optiimize the code. The phone runs quite warm.
 
16 hours since I updated to BETA2 and it looks good. battery life is better than beta1 and more stable. too bad stock live wallpapers aren't there. but thats totally okay... just waiting for the camera now...
 
3d Gallery work and Music player.. after restarting now work.
Another question..I want to remove ADW Launcher... but how ?
 
I hear the camera doesn't work properly... but doesn't it work at all? (I use the barcode scanner app a lot because I tend to work with barcodes quite often; does it still work in GAOSP?)
