yep
when you wipe you need to re-apply update.zip before gapps

EDIT this is goasp. i didnt think there were gapps for it yet

lol, bad sentence structure :D
Yep GAOSP - I'm pretty sure there are Gapps? I think it may be I have the wrong Restore... my bad :p

Weird - the gapps go back in fine, but no paid apps in the market at all? My region is still UK though? Anyone got a way round this as I was probably going to keep it till I noticed...

Hmmm, anyone know if AppBrain is a way round this? I'm guessing not as it's a market skin more than anything... Seems pretty nice though :)

edit; Answered my own question it appears - Pandora Radio shows up in AppBrain, but can't get it :( I assume the same will be the case for paid apps in GAOSP :( Still a cool app :)

you could just try market enabler, just google for it.
Hmm, dunno how but I must have ballsed the install last time. D/led Market enabler to give it a try, flashed and paid apps already there this time  :)

Another Q. for the GAOSPers out there, how are you finding battery life?

Hi, I have successfully upgraded my Samsung galaxy device using the GAOSP project but I was unable to establish a data connection with he new software.
If anyone encountered a similar problem I would be grateful for any help on the subject.
P.S.
during the installation I had 2 problems:
1. I couldn't find the gapps download on the end of cyanogen

That version is for Beta 1 only, I think.

@eyalsh: Download GAOSP_ADDONS (not gapps) from this link and install it via Install any zip option. What kind of data connection are you talking about (2G/3G/WiFi)?

Establishing a 3G Data Services Connection on bell is nearly impossible on beta 2, good thing i did a nandroid backup to get back to galaxo

Deviled Moon... I had similar problems the first time I went to Beta 2. Here's the Bell APN:
Name: Bell Internet
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type: Internet + mms
Authentication Type: none

Use everything but the APN type. Just leave that blank in Beta 2.

i have different problem with GAOSP, i instlled it in first try, it was okay then lost my radio, so i got back to 1.6.3 then again tried to go back to GAOSP, without backup, now gaosp is stucked at explosion screen, just AOSP keeps exploding two hours now.... any idea what can I do ??? or can go back to public beta 2 ?

First, which version did you try to install, the new version has a small bootanimation enabled? Did you do a full wipe (a must do)?

the GAOSP public beta 2, and I guess I didnt do wipe before restoring the GPB2. lemme try that and edit here the response.
done with wipe and then resotring the update.zip with Gapps,
okay got service, setup with APN except for type of APN and it lost network...

Advice:

Forget about GAOSP public beta 2.
It's a older build then the latest nightly. Yes, nightly versions are the most working ones (still a bug here and there) but it works nicely. Here is the link.

Give it a try, also don't forget to do a Nandroid backup and a full wipe (is a must when changing versions of Android).
Here is a guide and also the gapps you will need. Choose the one you think suits you the most.

thanks lelounch! I tried nightly build, It was slow poke intially then i clocked to 614 Mhz , its gotten fast now, but battery keeps hitting 9 degree celcius and drain is faster than anything i ever seen..
any advice on these ones ?

One question. What is diference between GAOSP-2-PUBLIC-BETA-3 i GAOSP Nightly?
Also: gapps-gaosp-light-10312010-signed.zip and ultralight?

Nightly is a prebeta build and well Beta is...
Forget about nightly and go for Beta - the most recent build.

And those are names for gapps, go with either one light is lighter then regular, and ultralight... But be warned for each version of gapps you must have a clean GAOSP Beta install (Nadroid backup rules :p ).
