Thanks. Still following a similar direction then. It suits that handset though. Does anyone make that? Looks nice. Doubt it though ;)

Meh, it is a little, but i do like clean lines.

Except for the facia, I like the look of the iphone 4. I love that block like look like the HD2 / DHD have.

Seen that new layout last year when it was first announced - will give MIUI a try again once it's out as it does look nice :D

Yup I agree. I love the feel and look of iphone 4. Its very well made! Dan we better be careful! Seems like we are being pulled in by the dark side! I dont wana be stoned by follow Desire buddies in here! :D

I'm sure there's plenty of nice hardware out there. Id never need to have an iPhone as its just not me

Collecting large rock as we speak.

Same. Iphone has never appealed to me. Mainly cos you cant customise it the way you can with android phones. Lecter you can put those stones away now. :D

Showing mild ignorance here... If you have Sense ROMs like LeeDroid that are closely alligned to the HTC Sense experience, and AOSP ROMs like Defrost which are vanilla Android ROMs, where does MIUI fall? And do you have to do any extra tinkering (new table, new radio, etc) before you adopt one, or is it just like flashing a new ROM?

hmmm I may have found something that will tempt me away from leedroid...

and I actually used to own an iphone 3G and I really must say, it was a lovely phone...aside from the lack of customising...which given that this was a new 3G back like 3 years ago, MOST phones on the market lacked what we have now so that was a major over the top thing.

I did like the fluid menus and just sheer....niceness about it....that even count as a word? ah nevermind...what steered me away was the horrid browser pulling down a ton of net data so you would use your balance up quickly...poor market where the 'free' games/apps were terrible or where things like "fart button" or something that was purely stupid as hell..

since then though I have kinda pined for the fluid menus and look but got to say I'd never go iphone again for pretty much the same reasons STILL above...plus I like flash lol...BUT I may go for the new MIUI when its released..

any word on possible release date...as in more definate other that 'maybe friday or next week'?

Dean Its not known when they will release the new update for Desire or indeed other phones. But I can confirm this much we are going to get the final update based on froyo today. From next Friday they will officially start rolling out 2.3 and new UI wil follow shortly after that. We just dont know in what particular order which handsets will get it 1st all we know they will release this new update over the next 5 weeks one handset per week as i understand it.

EDIT: Ive added MIUI statement in my Original post so check it out.

I have some news regarding 2.3 MarkHuk @MIUI.dev has confirmed Nexus S is going to be the 1st handset to get the update this friday followed by Nexus One next friday. NO news on when Desire is getting the update as yet. This is what Mark has said:

"Hi everyone,
News from China is that the first updated device to Gingerbread is going to be the Nexus S, sad news for people who have been in the game for the last 6 months!
Really sad to see that the Nexus One is not getting the update until 1.3.18.
In light of this news I will
not be working on MIUI ROMS this week. Supporting the Nexus S is great but to not support the main developer phone at launch is just ridiculous."

Original quote (from chinese dev):
"According ROM development progress and stability, this Friday will release the first 2.3-based adapter ROM – Nexus S!
Adapter Type: Nexus S
Android Version: 2.3.3
Posted: 2011.03.11 17:00
Beginning this week, we would continue to issue 2.3 of the adapter ROM, including the N1, G7, MS
"

I was on MIUI for a few months. Loved it, only reason I changed was because I was fed up of waiting for gingerbread. I'll be switching back when they release the desire rom :)

hahahahaha.
Susan.....?

Can you fill me i-ii-iin

Well it is wednesday, but I never took you for a drink on the tuesday and I'm quite frankly getting a bit too old to carry on through Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Gosh, looking forward to sunday already.
