GB OTA has started

any idea on when it will be back up?? my dad has a Tbolt and I was a little shocked tonight to see it was still running froyo. GA here and nothing when i hit check new
 
No word, HTC has to implement the VM fix (and the fix for the security flaw more than likely) test it themselves, then submit it back to VZW for testing and approval, once that is done it will be pushed again. It could be a few days if HTC and VZW really bust their humps or a few weeks if they don't

appreciate the good info, i was curious as to how long it would take the two parties to digest the issue and spit something new out. I hear it runs quite a bit better compared to the current version.

Because it was pulled right after release (and the rom devs found a fix for the VM bug) I think that part should be done already, also the security flaw shouldn't be that hard to fix either adding some encryption or just removing that app. If that is the case then it just depends on how long they want to test the update prior to release.

:D I like helping out. I hope it isn't that long either even if it has no effect on me, kinda crappy for them to release an update that is flawed only to pull it and make users wait longer for something they promised so long ago.

yeah that is pretty crappy. got my old man all excited for nothing lol
 
I got it when it first came out. No VM problems for me. Don't know why I am one of the lucky ones...also. My greatest hope was better battery life. The increase has been marginal at best. A little disappointed. Battery life is my only major complaint with this device. It does run better though. But it wasn't horrible before GB.

I normally expect voicemail notification. If not, I assume I have no voicemail. I'm happy to stick with Froyo until that's fixed. I can live without the batter life improvements until then.
 
Hey Worm, I have a question. Why the hell was my thread made into a comment on this thread? see page 3. You clearly must have thought your thread view count was much more important than mine.

Why ask Worm? I contacted a mod and requested they review the threads to see if they should merged, no need to have many threads discussing the same thing when 1 will work fine.
 
this forum was a mess after GB started,then stopped,some consolidation defiantely needed done. you could have saved your thread from being merged by posting on an existing one rather than start another thread that was the same/similar to several allready posted.

Good question. I don't blame you for thinking along those lines; it's nearly always a bit surprising to see one's posts/threads vanish and appear in another existing thread.

Mods are always trying to keep the clutter down, especially on subjects that show up in multiple threads. Sometimes we forget to inform the OP of a thread that got merged into a larger one, for that I apologize.
 
1. do you have to do the GB update or can you just keep froyo? it took me 4 TBs to finally get one that worked correctly and i'm scared that this update could mess all that up.

2. what's new with GB? it fixes battery life and the security threat, and u can use front camera with Skype. anything else?

At this point the update isn't rolling out. There isn't that much change between the two versions of the OS more than what you stated. You can opt not to take the OTA but it will bug you until you finally accept it or it automatically accepts it
