Help Gear advice

Totally agree. If the price drops, I may try and get one for the hubby. I honestly don't see anything in the Gear 2 that would make me want to run out and get it. Besides, I absolutely prefer the design of this one with everything in the strap including the camera. Not crazy about Gear 2 changes. My Gear's battery is like yours and I charge mine every night too. What's thebig deal? You charge your phone every night too.

Actually, I'm more intrigued by the Google smartwatch that's supposed to be announced at Google I/O. It's being designed by LG, supposedly, but I'm not so enamored by my Gear that I'd have to stick with it.

The Gear 2 doesn't look any better to me and there are no additions that make me feel bad for getting the Gear 1 (especially at the Best Buy discount price).

Absolutely. I love my Gear but it doesn't mean I wouldn't jump at somthing that I thought was better. The Gear 2 isn't that, but I'd sure be interested to see what Google might come out with.

I just hope that Google can offer a smartwatch that is similar to their nexus line, where it has high end functions for less out of pocket costs. Moto G was really inexpensive, and that was a smartphone, so I am hoping for anything between 100-150

I'm going to wait to see how this watch shapes up, then go from there. Seems like popular opinion is the gear two isn't that much better than the one. If Google doesn't shine, the one is seeming more shaking at a lower price.

if i was to get another samsung smartwatch i think the samsung gear fit.

plus the gear 2 is not even an android device anymore.

and i agree drexappeal, the google/lg smart watch might be a better option........i am totally keeping an eye out for that.

Yes but the fact that it tells time is secondary to all the other stuff it does.

You really totally missed the point there.

This morning all of the colors were available for shipping to home or store. Now all of the colors are sold out.

Wish I had checked late last night, prior to heading to bed. Being in LA, the deal of the day usually refreshes at a reasonable enough hour for me to have a choice. I didn't end up seeing this until around 7am PST, so by then, it was way too late. I was happy enough to have picked up a Mocha one.

What's funny is, I'm not even sure how long I'll keep it. I'll likely sell it to a family member, prior to getting a Moto 360, which is really the smartwatch that is top of my list right now.
