I too only have 1 or 2 bars in my home and I was nervous at first before I activated but calls,texts and 3g is great so far from my house, Some places in my house don't even show a bar but all is good. Spotty and all over the place? yes... Reliable so far? yes... 25.00 dollars a month? YES!!!

OMG, The Rumor Touch is the WORST PHONE EVER MADE! Please try to exchange them for ANYTHING else! The phone is soo touchy--you literally CANNOT answer phone calls! It is slow, has a mind of its own and is JUST PLAIN LOUSY!

It seems cool at first, but the longer you have it, the more it begins to annoy you. Me and my sister both had one and we had the same issues. We were the first in line to get the Optimus V.

Before you are out of window to return-- PLEASE take those phones back!!!

I know the rumor touch has a lot of hit and miss reviews. I have read reviews from many different sites. The two rumor touch phones are for my wife and teenage son. First my wife is only interested in some light texting and a facebook status update. Easy UI for her to navigate. My son on the other hand is a texting machine but nonetheless he is a teen and I do not trust him with a V. We do know people around us that have the touch and they have been in use for over a year and are still functioning like normal. So I know what you are saying about it not being a great phone but for who I got them for, it will do.

Rooting and installing a custom ROM such as Harmonia will help with battery life. Or just rooting and removing apps like Where that are always running will help a bit.

You can also buy two batteries plus a charger off ebay for $10. I've been running my cheap ebay batteries for almost 4 months now, one is always in the phone, the other is charging or charged, which means I never have a worry about battery life. I also have the original battery for when these may die on me.
