My fave scary moments so far (I am not a massive gamer) are from Bioshock 1 - as already mentioned above. With surround sound on when you are in some dark creepy place with lots of stuff going on, then one of the 'Spider Splicers' would land behind you give it the old "Mwahahahaaa"**....that made me look around on a few occasions.

I'd say Amnesia as well as the Penumbra games are up there at the top for me. Followed by the Stalker series. Those bloodsuckers make me jump every single time.

Definitely Penumbra.

HL2 is not scary. It's funny once you know what you are doing. It's a playground for the gravity gun, and it's damn FUN.

The same goes for Bioshock. I always found that game funny. How can a game be scary when you are probably the scariest thing in the game?

Stalker is freaky. But I would say that's about it.

Reminds me of one I had forgotten - the Minerva Metastasis mod for HL2. Got pretty creepy in the underground lab.



Looks interesting, only 20 quid on steam.

It's a good game made by the same people that developed Stalker. It's essentially Stalker meets Half-Life with awesome, system-melting graphics.

Hahaha! I actually remember that game. I got so frustrated b/c I got stuck in this one segment. Good times.
