Getting extra battery

Thanks. That's my assumption also, but I wanted to get some opinions here.

Wow, $98 for the Mugen battery! That adds bulk to already a big phone, plus I'm using the Flip Cover case, which has a phone back already integrated.

I won't need extra power very often, so I think a standard size battery will be the best for me.
 
I have the 2600 mah Hyperion batteries. They aren't bad, but even after plenty of use and battery training, they easily die in around half the time of what my Samsung OEM battery does.

I guess you get what you pay for!

Amazon also sells Samsung OEM batteries, but they cost at least $21 + s/h. The one i'm looking at now specifically says it's for I717. Will probably get just one instead of a couple cheaper ones.

My main concern with the "lesser known" companies' batteries is the fire risk. The extended Mugen may be found cheaper on other sites (amazon). FWIW, I carry spare "OEM" batteries on my key chain, in a zipper pouch for an old thumb drive.
 
It's a must to have 2 - 4 batts for the Note. The thing chugs battery power. I don't understand all of the people and reviews that state they get better battery life than the iPhone. I own both phones and I'm here to tell you now. My iPhone lasts for an entire day and into the next day before I need to recharge it. And I've owned it for over 8 months. The Note I've had for 3 months and the sucker chews and naws on on the batt power. I'm here in China and I've bought 3 additional batts for the phone. The batts are much cheaper here. They only cost me about 10 bucks. So, I have the batts and the additional chargers always plugged in. I carry one batt in my coin compartment of my wallet. With a fully charged batt and the extra in my wallet, I can get a steady day and night with the two. But I also carry my iPhone with me as well, so if I'm ever caught short on power with the Note, I have the iPhone for back up. But I wanted to get rid of the iPhone. That was my original desire for buying the Note in the first place.
 
Just found a guy on my local Craigslist that is selling OEM SAMSUNG replacement batteries for the Note. Going to get one tonight. Should be identical to the one included in the box so should be good.

I haven't heard good things about Chinese batteries, so it's possible that your replacement batteries aren't lasting as long because they aren't of high quality.
