Help Getting refurbished droidx ???

droidnick

Newbie
My droidx developed black lines running left to right, looks like etche a sketch lines. Verizon is sending me a referbished droidx, Any history on how reliable a refurbished will be.

thanks

FYI this is the Droid forum. The Droid X forum is at Motorola Droid X - Android Forums

Reliability of a refurb depends on that specific device. General statements regarding the reliability of refurbs are pointless. Some are reliable. Some make it through the process and are still problematic. It really just depends. You'll have to wait and see. If it's not reliable get it replaced.

Moved to Droid-X forum :)

Also, I have had decent luck and mostly heard good things about refurbs. I usually tell people to go ahead and grab it, and if there is something wrong, ask for another :)

I haven't heard any stories of bad Droid X reburbs.

Don't get me started on the HTC Droid Eris refurbs...there were people that were sent 2, 3, 4, 5, or more refurbs before VZW allowed them to switch to a different phone.

They were clearly sending-out refurbs that had known problems (or didn't bother to check that they were properly working units to begin with).

Anyway, the Droid X is a very well-made device and hopefully any refurb you receive will be a very good one.

Cheers!

My DX refurb overclocks better than my original and has no other problems so I'm a happy camper.

Well I just got my refurb two weeks ago after having great luck for 11 months with my original. I was worried because my original was great and took whatever I threw on it. Good news is my refurb is just as good. (I can't say better because until the bottom of the screen flaked out I had no issues.)

I agree; had the same experience. My original was great for 10 months or whatever I had it for, then the hard buttons quit working.

I was leery of bringing it in because it had been utterly bulletproof up until that point. Wondered if I was going to get a lousy replacement.

Turns out it has no problems thus far - knock on wood.
