Gingerbread 2.3 (not yet) available!

Well there is bugs in gingerbread, but not all people do get it. I have no problem with it. But I still think gingerbread could be alot better from the start. Even some tweaks I have done has make gingerbread much better.

According to Samsung Benelux is no 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) update more. The update is officially called off by Samsung. According to Samsung would be too many technical problems to the 2.3.x update to pass on the SGS. So the SGS will officially remain Froyo.

Would be a shame if true but not a big deal, it's nice having the latest firmware but gingerbread really doesnt bring anything new for us.

Also, I don't think Google should have interfered, other than the battery drain issue I havent had a single problem with JVB.

Some guy told this on a Dutch forum Because he couldn't give any source someone asked Samsung Benelux trough Twitter if this is correct. just updated from 2.1.1 to Gingerbread off samfirmware and apart from a few visual changes not that impressed. can't really see the fuss and can't see any real performance, battery or any other improvements. might even go back to 2.1.1 as the battery might even be worse performing.

Why would you go back to 2.1, or do you mean 2.2.1?
 
I gave up waiting for them to fix gingerbread and went over to darky's rom, and I am so glad I did.
even if they release gingerbread tomorrow I won't bother flashing back to official, I will wait till the darky release.
It's amazing how a few people can do so much when a whole corporation can't even get it half right.
 
I lost my nerve and updated manually and flashed a new kernel. Now it's the phone it was always supposed to be.

Yeah, and the annoying part is that they DO have Gingerbread in Sweden. Not in the USA, not in Australia, not in Europe (technically). Yet THEY DO have it in a scandinavian country. And me hating my ex right now who actually IS from Sweden, is not going to help either.
 
Amazing. Just got back from a week away with no phone signal and was hoping they would have the update ready by now. Amazed there is absolutely nothing.

Does flashing your phone remove Touchwizz, I want to keep it.
