Still don't have my update. Being the data jockey that I am as part of my job (I'm also a software product dev manager), I'm always looking for patterns...

I adore cheese puffs (both the orange styro ones, and homemade ones with Gruyere and Parmesan).

hmmm...maybe the Gingerbread got coated with all the residual orange "CHEESE" powder and that slowed it down.

If you use the 2.2 RUU it will unroot you although s-off will remain so root can be restored later. However the best plan by FAR if you want stock GB is to flash a rooted OTA rom from xda. Then you end up with the same thing and maintain root the whole time. Plus, depending on which Rom you choose, some of the more minor fixes have already been applied to patch up verizons oversights.

Which one looks the best to you? I flashed the "Stock OTA" one several days ago, it kept force closing MMS so I went back to CM7. I just want the "real deal" so to speak. Should I try flashing it again? Maybe it was a bad flash.

VZW twitter feeds announces that gingerbread is out for Incredible. Thanks for telling me days late.

Folks, geography and date of sale have nothing to do with update. Go back a bunch of pages and I explain a bit about how updates are pushed.

Evan said he was fired. If he was here, he would not be able to send info.

Just a reminder when updating, be patient. Wait a long time before interrupting an update even if it looks frozen.

The rollout could take up to 14 days or more. If you don't have it yet, you are nowhere near last yet.

On Monday, if you don't have it, get back here and try the date trick. It is in the old froyo thread. Look for my post on it. For those skeptical, it does work sometimes. I explain why in my post in this thread a bunch of pages ago.

I'm waiting for my wife's update. Hopefully tonight so she has something new to goof around with in the hospital waiting room.

Yeah give it another shot, its the exact same thing as the OTA. Probably just had an odd glitch. Try the one by wildstang if that wasn't the one you were using before.

Thanks to Iowabowtech I am running stock 2.2 and waiting for the notice again. Once GB is out will it be possible to download it install it thru hboot without root, like I just did 2.2?

I actually think that you, Mr. Moderator, have masterly constructed this thread, complete with fake images, to try to convince me that it's been released. You also had one of your minions hijack the VZW twitter account to post the tweet that said it's released. You are an evil man!

Still nothing but it's time for some Thursday night football so will look again in about 5 hours if able. LOL

LOL!!! The knife wielding lobsters put me up to it!!

Will do! Thank you. What's The extra file he posted right underneath it? How do I flash that?

DTR = Data Throttle Remover

It's an add on that Wildstang has been doing for awhile (aka Bunkerbuster). I don't personally use it but how you'd do it is flash the rom, then the DTR zip back to back in recovery. Then reboot to system. In other words, it's flashed just like a rom.

For people who lost apps through the update. Would it be possible to remove the sd card before doing the update, and then just put it back in afterwards? I still haven't gotten it

I moved all the apps I could to the phone before update. The only ones I lost after updating were amazon store apps or ones that were stored on the SD card.

Got the update this morning. Installed and a couple apps went missing. No prob, just reinstalled them and they work perfectly. I've seen a huge increase in battery life. Working at a school, in a poor signal zone, my battery is usually at about 65% after spending the day in my pocket collecting e-mails. Today it was at 90%! Here's hoping this trend continues!

My wife's INC got the update notification Wednesday. She choose the "install later" option. Today we noticed that our data meter is at 111 MB 2 days into our billing cycle. We only have a 150MB plan. I looked at the data usage log at Verizon and found out that the morning of the update were two data "entries" - one for 28.5 MB and the other for 68 MB. I was floored we never use that much data in one day, we don't stream videos or music.

The only thing I could think of was that some pre-update data was sent to the phone because it happened the same date the update became available on her phone.

Probably not a big deal on an unlimited plan, but on our 150MB plan, it will force us to get another 150MB to get through the month. After an hour on the phone Verizon denies that any data is pre-loaded. I don't believe them.

Can some people check to see if you had similar data usage on the day the update became available (this is without accepting the update!).

Thanks

I thought mine did a little better also. Nothing really big though.
