I woke up this morning to see that I had a new system update. I got the big update a week or so ago but the smaller "fix" update failed due to lack of space. I assumed that it was the "fix" update trying to install again. I went in and made sure I had about 500 mb of free space this time. I clicked on 'reboot and install', but it just sat there on that screen w/out rebooting for 25 minutes.
I give up on this stupid update. Very frustrated. I'm not sure who to be mad at. With all of the Nexus delays, I'm fed up with Verizon.
Anyone else thinking that rooting seems to be the much easier route?
Just saying...![]()
For all the people still having trouble, I would suggest a factory reset. It's not that big of a deal, & the update will be waiting for you when you power back up.
Anyone else getting "certificate not yet valid" on their calendar sync since the 4.08 update?
I successfully installed both the 4.06 and 4.08 updates. My question is, if I now do a factory reset, will I still have the latest updates, or will my phone return to the original Android 2.2 I had when I first got this phone?
"Factory Reset" is a bit misleading at this point. It won't really return your phone to what it was like when it left the factory, you'll still be on the version of android that you had before you did the reset. It DOES wipe all of your information off the phone, so you'll need to set up everything all over again - which depending on your setup really isn't all that time consuming.
