Help Gingerbread - how to hard reset?

I updated to Gingerbread but the typical Volume Down + Power Button no longer takes me to the Fastboot, Recovery, etc screen.

What gives?

with gingerbread comes the installation of a fast boot. you need to disable it. so go to settings/applications/uncheck fastboot.
