I need a little help please. I downloaded and installed the new monster.zip, it went through and said update and or install complete, i hit the back button, and then did the restart phone, and now i'm stuck at the black bootloader screen that says:
Bootloader
30.03
Err:a5,69,35,00,3d battery ok, ok to program, connect usb data cable. tried a battery pull and nothing. Anyone help me out, It would be amazing. I'm new at this rooting stuff. Sorry.

Install complete, rebooting now with fingers crossed.

Edit: I came straight from Apex 1.5, formatted data and the install went through without a problem.

um sounds like you need the sbf.

Nm... I see the rom is out. We can post whatever we need to. Sorry!!!!

Just tried to sbf for the first time and everything seemed to be going well until the Loading RAM Downloader for bootloader or something like that. It failed. What could cause this? I am using the RSD Lite 4.9. The error I am getting says Failed flashing process: Interface BP: Error sending RAM download for bootloader. Device API Error

Please help.

do we need to wipe data for this rooted version? or can we infact install overtop of 2.3.340?

looks like you only have to wipe .340 if your coming from a rom built on it. otherwise if you stock/fresh .340 you should not need to wipe

If you are currently running on 2.3.340 you do not need to wipe when upgrading. If you are running a ROM based on 2.3.340 (Liberty, Fission, TranQ, Darkslide) you need to wipe when upgrading to rooted gingerbread.

Has anybody tried flashing this over the latest ApeX or flashing the Materstcock zip instead of using the sbf? I don't have access to ABD until tonight.

When I was coming from 2.3.340 I went ahead and wiped the data just to be safe and everything has worked great. I know others did not and seemed to have good luck as well. Now that you will have root the worst that could happen if you run in to problems is to do a factory reset after you install.

Ok the worst that could happen is that you brick the phone, but I have not heard of anyone doing that yet.

I think the only reason they are saying to SBF back to 2.2.340 is because he is assuming you are coming from 2.3.3 which we do not have root access on. So you have to SBF back to 2.2.340 to get root access to be able to flash the 2.3.3 with root access.

Is Wireless Tether working for anyone? My Xoom finds the connection but just sits at "obtaining ip address"

Anyone else help me out? I would greatly appreciate it!!

He is helping you out. Look at the tutorial and follow the procedure to use RSDlite and install the SBF on your phone. If you have specific questions on the procedure, we can answer them but that's how you need to get started - follow that procedure.

i didnt think many of the root applications would work correctly, considering the build of gingerbread would be different, glad to know most of them are working though

Amazing. I go to bed thinking this is gonna take a while and 5 mins. after I quit watching the threads it gets done. Absolutely amazed at the brilliance of our Android devs/programmers. Great job and thank you all for what you do. Still baffled as to why they haven't been able to crack the bootloader though.

@ECF how about that Honeycomb theme, brutha? lol

Ok back on 2.2.340 and rooting is happening, just moments away from my rooted Gingerbread. Has anyone tried the Droid X Bootstrap to see if it is working? I know on the leaked version of motoblur, which did not do justice to what they came out with in Gingerbread we had to use the Droid 2 Bootstrap.

Has any one tried renaming the materstock zip file to update.zip and flashing it through stock recovery? Just a thought, I'm stuck @ work with no usb cable.
