Gingerbread to Fascinate first?

Doubtful...although it'd be great if they strung us along for Froyo and surprised us with Gingerbread.
 
Well, it does happen all the time. The Eris skipped 1.6 and 2.0 to go straight to 2.1. The Nexus S already has 2.3 and as they said Samsung has been playing around with Gingerbread for a little while now. On top of everything else the Nexus S has just about the same specs, so it is possible.
 
Well Samsung phones may be in line to receive it first, but by the time Verizon is done holding it up (i.e. testing and bloating it) we'll still get it behind HTC and Motorola.

I'm frustrated that I can't even get the maintenance update that fixes GPS unless I root. And I can't root because of work issues.
 
Note the tweet said "Galaxy S phones", not "all Galaxy S phones".

I wouldn't be surprised if the GSM models got it fairly quickly -- but they'll have unofficial versions really soon anyway.

Fascinate? Verizon still hasn't released DJ05!

Please do, would be nice to know one way or another.

I know not to get my hopes up, would be nice for 2.3, but I would take 2.2. :-)

we hear a whole lot speculation from irc on a daily basis...some of it more credible than others...but still its enough to make your head spin :eek:

I will do what I can. Verizon is being very tight lipped on everything these days though.
 
I so was thinking about rooting, but I know the minute I do then it will come out. I dont have a laptop or computer at my disposal at all times. grrrrrr

Gosh, those were the days...waiting and speculating about 2.0 or 2.1 being released and the flaming that went on in the Eris forum was sad :p

Like others I am reminded of the Eris wait for 2.1......and all of the kittens that are gonna die this time around because it was horrible with the Eris wait.
