On Friday a Gingerbread update came up on my phone. Not knowing any better I went ahead and did it. Then wondering wife my wife's phone didn't get it I check her version and it's the same as mine. No my phone is slow and sticky on transitions. Is there a new update? Why would my phone ping up for this update (old update) and most importantly can I redo or something as my phone is really slow now. Working perfectly before.

Unfortunately, you're stuck with GB. There's no way of returning to froyo without rooting your phone.
You could do a factory reset, but you would obviously lose all your apps, settings, etc.
