Root gingerbreak?

I'm trying to root my samsung galaxy prevail.but my pc is lame and wont let my phone hook up. Can I download one click to my phone without going threw my pc? Also I found gingerbreak that will let me do it that way. Is it the same as one click mentioned on this forum? Also once I get root how do I unroot if I want to?

You mean, turn off USB debugging so phone will go into storage mode? Thats how it is on my prevail.

To answer your original question Leftnut26:
You need a pc to root. Once a pc is available use “Odin” to root, install gingerbread and CWM5 all in one shot. Also, Odin will let you go back to stock if like. Of course we don’t go back to stock after tasting the sweetness of root.

Now if your phone won’t connect to your pc then you might need the Samsung Drivers. Also keep your antivirus disabled. That has helped some folks around here.

Not sure what's wrong with pc. I put on a program to change video formats and since then it wont let my pc see my phone. Even after I deleted program. Thought it was my pc but it sees my girls phone. But now it doesn't. Ill try a different pc

u can either uninstall it or reinstall windows 7

I had a similar problem, when I installed a program it changed my phone's drive letter.. Check the device manager..

Or uninstall the driver n reinstall it
