Just wanted to say I flashed to 2.1, then changed my settings to what was mentioned above (smartass, 248, 710, etc) and I don't think my li ttle Eris has EVER worked so fast and smooth. It's great. Thoroughly enjoying it!

Off topic. I want to record my granddaughter when see calls to sing happy birthday to me. Anyone know a good app for that? I asked in app discussion without an answer. I looked in the market and there's so many. Any suggestions.?

I shopped really hard for the best one and it was, IMO, hands down, TapeMachine http://tapemachine.samalyse.com/. I use it all the time. It even has a built-in converter and editor!

The only cheviot is that, if you are recording a one-sided conference call, it works great. However, if you try to talk to them while recording (unless you pause the recording every time you want to say something), they will not be able to hear you.

Unfortunately, I think that may be a phone limitation, rather than the app. I don't know if there is an app that will record both sides of the call without issues. Please let us know if you happen to come across one.

Otherwise, TapeMachine rocks!

I found something that looks promising but I can't read up it and roll down I-95 and be careful at the same time. It's called Total Recall.

Don't know if y'all monitor the battery temp but I was just getting fc's and noticed my battery was at 113f. High temps always seem to be a problem for me.

Shed has it overclocked to only 604 MHz by default. I've always wondered why it's there when everyone seems to bumping it up over 700.

For one thing, it might help your overheating issues...

I got a little ambitious today and bumped myself up to MAX 729. Yes, it's even "snappier". I'm going to sit on these settings. I watched my battery and CPU temps all day to see if there was much of a bump in temperature. There was not. Even when I was on the charger, downloading about 50 songs (Top Songs), and on the web, I remained at a nice 37c , which I thought was acceptable since I was doing so much at once. I mean that is really working your phone LOL. Right now, just average use, my battery is chilling at 75F/24C. I also have the App "Temp+cpuV2" installed. Helpful little box to monitor everything!! Shows Max and Min Gov settings, percentage you are of max, battery temp, and memory.I also keep "Battery Doctor" in my Apps to watch battery temperature and the progress of a charge.

And as far as Sheds default, I DID read in one of his posts, that his Roms can be run safely (they are designed to handle) up to 710. That's why I personally always bumped mine up to that level. That doesn't mean everyones phone can take that though, thus a lower default.

Did you like that Battery Gauge?

Did you like that Battery Gauge of Tazzs'?

I think that battery gauge theme was actually created by CondemnedSoul, not Tazz. Tazz may have a link from his rom to the theme, as I know that he and CS create a lot of themes together. Just wanted to give credit where credit was due. :)

How do you do a LauncherProPlus back-up??

Menu/Preferences/All the way at the bottom under Restart LauncherPro-"Backup Homescreens & Settings".

It will save your current settings onto your SD Card then when you reflash just go in and "Restore Backup" which is the option directly below "Backup".

It won't back up widgets though.

Paleodust,

Got home last night and installed "Total Recall". This one ROCKS. There's tons of options and it does two-way recording and is clear as a bell. It say's it don't work on all phones but the Eris is one that does. Look it up in the Market and let me know what you think. PM me if you want.

True, that it doesn't. But, it's nice to have your settings saved to have more of a base to build from. My widgets that are in the dock come back, the only widgets that don't restore are widgets on your screens (not in dock).
