Hey guys,

Quick update if you dont know, GingerVillian 1.9 was released yesterday.

Version 1.9:
* Latest CM7 commits (thanks to CM team).
* Include A2SDGUI (thanks to elgubbo).
* kernel updates:
- USB: f_mass_storage: Disable write cache support
- acpuclock-8x50: Remove dodgy optimizations

See what you think :)

I'm sticking with 1.8 for the mo.
It's working fine and I don't use any extra kernels but can't see any worthwhile use for me in flashing the new build.

updated to 1.9 last night and everything is ok,the new a2sdgui app is very handy i used it to move all my apps to the sd card and i now have over 100mb of internal memory free :)

No real problems to report. Do have a little issue though, using lpp I hide the status bar and used to use the home key to open notifications in 1.8 but this doesn't work in 1.9. Anybody using lpp able to confirm for me? Would be appreciated :)

Just tried, menu reveals notification bar for me (not home)

Edit: ok if I set the right LP prefs the home key does work fine for this. Sorry for noise.

Edit: play with settings, set home button to reveal notification bar and it does, but only very briefly. May be conflicting with some other setting - I don't normally use home for this.

Yeah the status bar appears for about a second and then hides again. I'm guessing there's a conflicting CM setting I'm missing somewhere. Thanks though

I've been running v1.9 for the whole day and all seems to be OK, including WiFi.
A2sd GUI is useful.

That's what it did for me when I had home key action set to open/close notifications. When set to show/hide status bar it works for me.

Anyone else finding that despite setting WiFi sleep to never, it still disconnects whilst idle and then takes ages to re connect?

When I pull down the notification bar it sticks halfway then moves down slowly, is that just me? Its a minor annoyance everything else seems to be running smoothly.

another notification problem:

date is missing from the top left when you hold the notification area at top of screen

anyone know how to get this back?

Works fine for me if I pull all the way down. If I flick it down rather than drag then it does what you describe. Seems that the unforced speed is a little slower than previously.

Yeah I flick it rather than pull it all the way.

Very glad I haven't flashed 1.9
Sounds pretty broken in places that 1.8 isn't.

TBH I had a few apps freezing on 1.8 that I never had on 1.7, would have restored but forgot to nandroid, d'oh!

So is Gingervillian getting worse each version then?
;)

Yeah looking forward to 2.0 where the touchscreen doesnt work and setting an alarm causes an infinate bootloop :D

Joking aside it seems pretty stable, the notification bar thing doesnt bother me that much. From reading threads on here I didn't notice anyone having the same freezes as me on 1.8
