Gmail Error = Poor Battery Life

I have been having an issue with Gmail syncing to my gmail accounts for weeks now. It used to not be an issue, now all of a sudden, i get the triangle error notice every few minutes. Click on it and it goes away without any resolution.

I have two gmail accounts on my phone, both of which are receiving emails just fine, and both of which contacts are sync'd.

My battery life has also taken a dive since this started happening. I was easily making through a day with no charging, now it's just over half of what it was. Must be trying to sync constantly.

I have tried removing the account and re-adding it, and the message just comes back. Did it on my primary account for a while, then the error switched to my other account.

Have deleted the gmail accounts and also data and cache manage applications? Maybe try again and then after deleting accounts, data and cache, make sure you reboot the phone. You could also try to sign out of your gmail account all together and try to resync

Are you sing the stock mail app or the gmail app? I've heard a lot of complaints about the gmail app.
Actually, I don't know any reason - besides familiarity - to use the gmail app. Does anyone? I'm happy with the stock app and just curious.
