Root Gmail not syncing automatically

A little while back I switched ROM's but eventually went back to my Synergy RC2 via my NANDROID backup.

Since then my Gmail doesn't sync automatically anymore. I checked all teh relevant settings but I still get only new emails when I go into each account, menu then refresh.

Any idea what could be wrong here?

have you tried wiping dalvik ccahe and cache?

yep, first thing I did.

I even uninstalled gmail and reinstalled it

has anyone had gmail sync problems last few days? mine is doing same crap as above. it just started and has worked great since day one. only way to get it is to open mail and select menu and refresh..
it doesnt even work if i go to settings, account,a do sync from there, it will not sync from there.. have to do a refresh from the stock mail program?
any help here?
