I just got off the phone with AT&T customer service. It was NOT the retention department, just a generic "business customer care" service person. My contract ends in October so I still have a few months to go on it, but I threatened to jump ship to Verizon's Droid X. She stated they didn't yet have phones in that they could send me to be able to keep me, but she said try back in a few days, and that she would note in my account they'd take $150 off the price of the phone. She wasn't sure whether it would cost 149 or 199, but she said I wouldn't have to pay shipping or handling and all I would have to pay was (reportedly) 49 dollars plus 18 dollars upgrade fee. Bad part is I don't get it *TODAY*, rather I have to wait till they get it in stock. Your mileage (fees) may vary depending on your contract time remaining and how long you've been with at&t.
