Help Go Launcher EX on Dinc2 questions

I'm hoping there are a few people around here that know more about Go Launcher EX than I do and can answer a few questions I have.

First is with the running apps tabs in the app drawer. How come there are so many apps listed as running? When I turn on my phone there are already tons of apps listed as running, apps I haven't opened and way more than is listed in settings>applications>running services.

Second is with the Go Store. The Go Store Apps Manager tells me some of my apps need to be updated, however Android Market does not list those apps as needing to be updated. Is one list more reliable than the other? Do Go Store and Android Market check for updates at different frequencies.

Third is with Go Weather App. Has anyone gotten it to update regularly? Mine worked at first, but now it tells me I have network errors and all I get is a forecast from August. Is there a way to use Sense clock/weather widget in Go Launcher?

Thanks for looking and hopefully replying. This forum really is the best.

The apps in the notification pulldown, i believe these are "last used" apps, not really "running". But i may be mistaken.

I never used the Go Store, or anything else from Go, other than the launcher (dock and app tray)

Sorry i cant help more

I hear ya G, I've found I really like Sense too. Anyone got suggestions for a good folders app? When I combine app into folders I'd like the able to see what apps are in the folder. Go Launcher did that, but other than that there didn't seem to be much else I really liked about it.

It isn't "folders" but check out Multicon Widget. I think that's a pretty sweet way to organize.

Multicon is pretty cool - I have it putting 8 icons in the space that would normally have only 2. You can go even smaller than that, but my fingers aren't that tiny.

I had to switch to Go Launcher from Sense because Sense started crashing on me. Many times when exiting an app and returning to Home, Sense would crash and take about 10 seconds to restore.
I thought the problem might have been caused by Multicon or Folder Organizer (I had them installed), but uninstalling both of them didn't help.
I opened a ticket with HTC. They were pretty responsive to my help requests, but were unable to fix it. I posted the problem here and only one or two other people had experienced it.
I finally said 'the hell with it' and installed Go Launcher.

There are quite a few apps that start automatically. Many of them are pre-installed and can't be removed without rooting the phone. If you install another process monitor, such as Watchdog, you can confirm.

I haven't been using the Go Store so I haven't seen this update issue. It may just be that there's a little delay in getting the updates to the Market. Functionally it doesn't matter unless you're having a problem with a particular app. Then it would make sense to grab an update that appears first in the Go Store.

I believe the Go folks took the weather server offline for maintenance, which made it impossible for the phone app to sync and instead it showed a bogus past date. This was fixed, but it was necessary for me to uninstall/re-install the app to restore synchronization.

For what it's worth I use Go Launcher EX, Go SMS, and Go Weather + widgets and feel they all offer more options/customizations than the stock sense stuff, but follow your bliss :)
