Go Launcher - Hottest home launcher

Did you guys notice that the option to change fonts is now a working feature in Go Launcher? I've been having some fun with that today :)

As far as the Go SMS is concerned, I've found (at least according to other friends) that they receive my texts a lot faster than when I was using Handcent SMS or even Chomp SMS.

Has anyone else noticed this as well, or am I just waaay out in left field with this?

ditto for me .. n also helps me receive mms waaaayyyy faster as well .. thts y im lovin it ... but im gettin too many repeats lately... ne one else havin the same issue with go sms?:)

Ok, Im using Go Launcher and was wondering if its possible to make my dock in to toggle switches (3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Flashlight) Is this possible? App/Widget recommendations?

hi,
i think you should be able to do something like that - ive just stuck the standard wifi shortcut icon in my 2nd dockbar ok

I have just started using go launcher again and when i open and close the app drawer it takes a little longer than before and it doesnt appear straightaway. Theres a sort of transition effect but i have none selected.

One thing that my default launcher had, that Go Launcher doesn't is a button to go to Manage Applications.

I would rather have that in the quick menu rather then "Share". I can't even seem to find a way to put an icon in the dock that will do that.

There are also a couple of things about the way scrolling works in Go Launcher that bug me. The worst thing is that in the Apps Drawer, scrolling is a bit choppy and you don't have the same kind of smoothness and control that you do elsewhere. It goes from too slow to too fast, and it doesn't glide enough on the slower speeds. That one thing is almost enough for me to scrap Go Launcher and go back to the default MotoBlur. Compare it to Root Explorer, and you'll see what I mean.

The second thing is that when scrolling the dock, it doesn't scroll smoothly. There's like an elastic choppyness. I wish it would just scroll smoothly.

And does anyone know if it's possible to:

1. Set Go Launcher so that pressing the Home key resets the Dock position in addition to the screen?

2. Disable that bottom row in the Apps Drawer - the one that's there only for the redundant Home key? I already have a Home button, so why give up a row of screen space for another?

you, my friend, should look into App Monster. If I'm reading you correctly, it's an app that'll manage your apps, and you can put it right there in the dock (or swipepad, or wherever).

Can't help you with your other problems, except the elasticity thing... I seem to remember a specific function in Go Launcher's settings somewhere specifically dedicated to "elasticity effect when scrolling." Play around with that maybe? And you can try changing some of the scrolling speeds.

I didn't see anything in App Monster's description that would suggest that it does something I want. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

No, that has to do with general scrolling, not the issue I mentioned with the dock. And in any case, as far as I can tell, that setting is broken - as I can't use it to shut off that effect.

Hmm.. what is it exactly you want to do with apps? I'm sure there's something out there... just so we're on the same page, App Monster is essentially a replacement for the "manage applicationss" menu setting... it lets you uninstall/back up, etc.
Maybe not QUITE as good as the "manage apps" menu setting, but it might still work for what you're trying to do.

Also, dunno if I'm just misunderstanding you and telling you something you already know (sorry if I am)... but in go launcher's dock I believe you can long-press and "change shortcut" to the manage apps menu setting.

I'm not looking to replace "Manage Apps". I'm just saying that there is no longer a shortcut to it when using Go Launcher, and it's no longer possible to create a shortcut to it either. At least from what I can see.

Go ahead, see if you can do it. It's inside of the main Settings, so there's no pre-existing shortcut in the Apps List to bring you there that I can point to.

Long-Press the dock key you wish to assign. Press Shortcut. Press Settings. Press Manage Applications.

You can also create a shortcut to Manage Applications on the desktop the same way. Just Long-Press on the desktop, then do the rest of the steps.

Yeah dude, works fine for me. Maybe it's specific to my Droid X? Or I'm using a different version of Go Launcher? At any rate, when I hit "Change Shortcut" I get an option for: Application, Shortcut, App drawer icon, Reset to default, Blank. If I hit Shortcut, then choose Settings, I can select "Manage Applications."

If we're talking about the same thing.

Oh and the point was with App Monster, not that it can replace Manage Applications for you... except that it does *pretty much* what Manage Applications does, but it's an App, so you can create a shortcut for it.

Hope I helped?

This also works on my HTC Desire so that I have the Manage Applications icon on the scrollable dock in GL.

I would also like to know if this was possible. Also is there any way to put toggles in the dock?

Is it possible to place go launcher folder at the dock? I have been using folder organizer lite to place folder at the dock. However there doesn't seems to be an option to place go launcher folder there.

This.

I've got a shortcut to the manage applications menu in my dock right now. Also managing anything that's running from the app drawer is great too.

Re: his scrolling issue; I've got my app drawer set up to scroll in pages left to right. Much easier to keep read track of where I am.

Thanks! That wasn't clear to me, because it looked like it was just linking to the main Settings app.
