Root go sms handcent sms?

If i install one of these on cm7 do i have to remove anything as far as the sms program that comes with the rom or does it just take over the text program. Also is one better than the other?

all you have to do is disable notifications on the stock sms app and enable notifications on go sms or handcent, then you will be good to go. i prefer go sms over handcent.

Is it ok to delete the stock sms or not a good idea. I guess i should try to freeze it first. Just dont like stuff that i dont use taking up space.

I don't remember if I tried go sms pro on cm 7 or not, I'm going to see.

I have tried it on different phones and roms now and I kind of like it. haven't had to remove the stock msg app either. On one phone, I couldn't get rid of dual notifications, though I really tried. was using handcent, have for a long time. started using go sms pro and the problem took care of itself.

I like handcent. go sms pro just has my vote for now.

Edit: yep, it is on there. I don't remember having any probs with it either.
