Enjoy the holiday my friend. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. And a happy feast for all of my AF friends. Enjoy and be safe if you travel. Give an extra kiss and hug to those close to you. We all have a lot to be thankful for.

As we age, it seems the holidays get both more complicated and difficult. The simple pleasures of youthful enjoyment are overlain with personal issues, familial discord and, inevitably, the holes around the table left by loved ones no longer with us.

Our challenge is to remember the main themes underlying the holidays and put aside any personal issues, focusing on the relationships that brought us together in the first place, and to be grateful for the many good things in our lives, including the importance of others who have influenced us, regardless whether they are still with us.

My prayer for you all is that you may be able to set aside or avoid any and all landmines around your get-togethers and have an enjoyable food coma.
