Root GoldenMonkey kernel

GoldenMonkey kernel is causing me a hell of problems. I don't understand why. It was great until I want to switch to an aosp rom and use one of their kernels, then switch back but I ALWAYS wipe. Always. This time I got a continous boot loop with a sense rom I just installed after doing another super clean install.

Freedom is terrible for me. How is chop seuy?

You shouldn't have these problems going back and forth if your wiping properly. If your having problems bits and pieces are being left behind.

Aggressive Freedom works wonders for me.

Chop suey doesnt.

Anyone elses experiences (thats right, including mine :P) do not matter because each phone acts differently. With kernels, you just have to flash then and try them till you find the one that is for you. Let them settle at least a few days without flashing anything before making a decision on whether or not to keep it.

This time it was a clean install. I set up then I restarted and did a nandroid backup. Cleared cache and dalvik-cache then installed the kernel. Restarted and it just kept rebooting. the nandroid had the stock kernel, i'll just give that a few days and see if it's good. if not, i'll go to something after that. I'm tired of reinstalling apps and losing recent messages that I actually want to keep, lol.

Thanks for your help and insight!

what are you wiping?

I didn't even see this -_-. I wiped everything in Amon RA that didn't have SD in it, then did the super wipe. It's work now. I think I had a bad transfer of the kernel from my computer to the SD card, so I just deleted that version, downloaded it again and it's been working fine now. my phone has been at from 8-10% with moderate use for over 2 hours now lol

Cool, thanks for ther update. :)

Just to be sur,e when you wipe for a kernel flash only wipe the cache partition and the dalvik cache. Don't flash superwipe before a kernel flash.

Only use superwipe before you flash a rom. ;)
