well tomorrow is my last day with boost. cant stand the cheap reception and them slowing down our "3g" lol i will be changing over to t-mobile and will get the galaxy s3. thanks to the whole prevail root comunity for everything. i learned how to root here. i learned so much from here and the people here are very help full. this forum would help me with my transformer prime tablet when in xda no one would reply with an answer lol. i might still keep my prevail just to mess with it and stuff. the impossible was possible with this phone thanks to the devs. i will still drop by and see if i can help some people when i can.

eh the price beats both verizon and atnt. and sprint is most likely going to be the same as boost. and seeing everyone else in my house has boost and they get good coverage i am willing to switch over. my brother has the s2 and i rooted his phone added the speed tweaks and when we did a speed test he got 17mbps. beats the 1mbps speed boost is now giving. as for unlimited minutes i dont really cal much. mostly texting and internet for me. i also read online about tmobile maybe getting lte. and for $50 i will be able to make and receive calls lol.

If I am reading this correctly something is wrong. 17 mbps is not possible with CDMA or the new WiMax.

1 mbps is actually respectable.

I think he meant switching over to T-Mobile, not Boost. I've heard plenty of people burst that high with T-Mobile on their 4g, but not sustain that kind of speed. Although they do have a very nice 4g service where it's available.

Good luck with the T-mobile and the GS3. I'm personally not a fan of the outer look of the phone but it's underlying hardware is phenomenal. It recently received both official nightlies of CM9, and Unofficial AOKP port. Have fun :smokingsomb:

I was a tmobile customer the service isn't any better then what you have with boost plus how can you leave boost when they have the htc evo 4g?

Hope you like your new phone plus the capping they do with your data plan.

in my area i do get better coverage than boost or sprint. i can make and receive calls indoors. and the galaxy s3 is going to be better than the evo 4g lol

and as for the capping they are doing it with boost now too. dont know if you have noticed. went from 1.8mbps to like .5 max 1mbps. i already opened the account on tmobile like an hour ago and they guy is going to hold 2 s3 for us on thursday. plus i get a discount from my job so its like $80 for 2 lines unlimited text 1000 minutes free mobile to mobile, nights and weekends, and free wificalling. and up to 2gb highspeed data. and in my experience i have gotten better customer service from tmobile so far than i ever did with boost.

Not to disparage the new evo 4g owners, but that is last generation. If you want dual or quad core phones then you need to switch from boost.

I recently switched to T-Mobile, I have good 4g service in my town. Boost does not compare to lte . If you have cable internet then you have an idea of how fast it is.

Boost is capping their service as well. You just won't notice it with the slow speeds.

and the price is not much of a difference if you get a family plan.

tivo are you getting the s3?

My major question is battery life with multi-core processors.

I just like the fact that I'm not tied to a contract. I loved tmobile great prices but not a good signal I paid 35 a month with the company I was with. I guess I just like the fact that I will be able to change phones when ever I like. I can't aruge about the customer service with tmobile that was good too.Just remember this it all start with a dream triple OG G1.;)Hope you have fun with your next phone.:D

My major question is battery life with multi-core processors.

They get good battery life. I have a dual core HTC one s. Its pretty great on battery life. But there are other factors to battery life. Like mine is super amoled screen, which has crappy battery life with white color. (Like browsing websites). So the screen should be looked at when choosing your phone too.

But if you can wait a while for phones that will have the tegra 3 processor, it will be quad core, and compared to my dual core it will have 3 times the processing power and better battery life than mine.

well for me its the opposite. sprint sucks in my area and tmobile is good. where my cousin works the only phones that get good reception are sprint and verizon. it all depends where u live. and when you have a contract the provider also has to do their part.

In my area, Boost service is better than T-Mobile. The cable guy has T-Mobile and could barely make a phone call the couple times he was out here. I'm not knocking T-Mobile though because every carrier has their dead zones. My area just happens to be 1 of T-Mobiles.

My office has a very good Sprint/Boost signal. I can stream netflix w/no buffering on 3G. At home sprint/boost signal is weak.

YMMV

My area must be one of Boost's

Yeah. It's kinda weird because I scanned the area for towers and found that there is only 1 in my area. It's a mile or so away from me too. The cable guy couldn't even get a signal in my house with his T-Mobile phone where as I had 2-3 bars on my Prevail.

Every carrier has their own dead zones, this just happens to be 1 of T-Mobiles I guess. He can probably go a mile down the road and have full signal. lol :D
