Root Good working reliable ROM

What does everyone recommend for me, I am looking for a nice reliable ROM? I would want a 100% working camera and I would also like to have the HDMI working too. I'm not too picky, I would like something basic with a fast interface and little/no lagging. I am currently on the Sense-ation ROM by JJohn7293, I like this ROM and the look of the ROM, I just was thinking it might be good to upgrade since I've been seeing some lagging lately. Another thing that I would like to change once I find a good ROM is I would like to change the carrier name on the notification tab and on the lock screen. Any suggestions would be nice?
 
Cm7 build 3/3/2013 is solid with camera 100%.
If you require hdmi, you are stuck with one of the froyo roms.

Changing carrier name is possible on any ROM, but is built into cm7.

Lag may or may not be a ROM issue. Probably not if it is something that has recently showed up, and wasn't there from the beginning.
Things that can contribute to lag include: CPU speed, governor choice/settings, launcher choice, CPU usage of start up apps, etc. These are all things that require investigation/tweaking by the user. Usually no simple cookie cutter solution.
 
cm7 has no HDMI, cm9 has no HDMI and a wonky camera that is only partially working. The downside for you is the cm9 is creamy smooth compared to most of the earlier roms. once you get to cm7/cm9, at least with MTDEV builds, you should be able to change your carrier name
 
I have to recommend VM Revamp. While it is Froyo, it provides much better battery life and fast GPS locks than CM7 or 9.

i am wondering if u often get force close when switching between camera:confused:

Not sure what you mean, but if you mean between front and rear cameras... Never have.

Actually, I don't think I've gotten a force close on anything that wasn't fixed by waiting a second or 2 longer... Like if another process hadn't quite finished.

Btw: I use my front camera daily, 100 times seems like, for face recognition.
 
this is odd. for me, only 9/28/12 will not force close when switching between front and rear camera, and all others will give a random force close when switched and i gotta reboot before i can use the camera again. gonna find out what i did wrong. btw, thanks for replying me :)

Visidon app lock.
It's handy to keep people out of apps that can mess up my phone, yet leave the phone unlocked for phone calls, internet, etc.
Long press the preview screen to get a pin key pad for low light situations.
That's actually the main reason I don't stick with CM9, even though it has face recognition built in. I need the ffc.

Although it does suck to have to see your ugly self in the preview screen every time you use a root app!

Does the app work pretty good? Can you use it on the lockscreen?

I guess I don't need to HDMI so I could do a CM7 ROM, but what I would like is a ROM where I can change the carrier name and I would also like a ROM with a black interface in the messaging app, I don't like the white background on the stock messaging app. On the ROM I am currently on(Triumphant Sense-ation) it has a black background which I like the look of.

Cm7 has the black background
 
What CM7 ROMS do you guy recommend I should give a try, maybe ill test a couple this week rather than trying to mess with the framework in my current ROM.
