Goodbye Droid X

After 4 replacement Droid X phones and a dozen factory resets, Goodbye Droid X. Samsung sent me a Fascinate. I'm not really happy about it but I have to have a working email client for my work email. Also, you rebooted on me in the middle of doing just about anything Droid X. Verizon sent me 4 fault replacements and I just couldn't take it anymore.

Enjoy your phone! I think I'll move this to the Fascinate section because you should get to know them there and become part of the community. Good luck to you. :)

Hello Fascinate community! Don't mind him saying he's not happy about getting the Samsung, I'm sure that was only meant to make us all feel better about it!

;)

Welcome to the Fascinate Community. Hope you don't mind the downgrade from Gingerbread to Froyo. Heck, you're lucky you're joining us now and not 2 weeks ago when we still hadn't "officially" been upgraded and were still running Eclair. :D

Yikes, that's not cool. Typically all my DX issues from the past were traced back to a faulty app. But since you had "fresh" phones with factory resets, sounds like a different story. For the last few weeks, while using my DX on daily basis, I have been playing with wife's SF in the evening. I mentioned that in other post, both are great phones with its strengths and weaknesses. DX - incredible battery life (I do have 1900 mAh ext Moto batt which has the same thickness as original stock and easily lasts 2 days with a moderate use), led notification indicator, and physical buttons which come handy to wake the phone up rather than hitting power button (IMHO the only advantage of those buttons). SF - is lighter, slimmer, more elegant iPhone-like form factor, and touch Android buttons which cut down on wear :) Both I believe have the same processor, and with Launcher Pro UI works smoothly without a glitch.

I went through the same ordeal, but with 4 Droid 2s. Then I got a Fascinate(good phone, just eclair killed it for me). I switched to the Droid X, which I love, but I'm on my 2nd of those as well.

I think after 3 faulty replacements I would be demanding a brand new in box phone.

Welcome to your downgrade.

They offered me that option before I took the Thunderbolt but I could not stand the thought of another Droid X. I really don't like Blur and I don't want another Motorola phone. Oh yeah, almost forgot that my wife is getting an Incredible.

Peace!

Sounds good to me! I'm somewhat jealous. I do like my fascinate for what it is but it is a little buggy.

I had the a problem like that with my Dare which wasn't a smart phone but I was waiting for the Droid X. I went through 3 of them before I finally asked for a new one instead of a refurbished one. No problems after that. I hope you like your new phone.
