Help Google account problems

Just got my Incredible, but one problem. A friend of mine picked it up for me, and made a random gmail account for the phone. I already have an account that I want to use, but whenever I try to replace the original, the phone prompts me that the only way to do it is to factory reset, and I don't want to manually re-add all of my contacts again. What do I do

If your contacts are not synced with your gmail account you can use a back up app like Mybackup (in the market) to back them up.

You can export contacts to SD, then import them back after you get your Google account squared away.

If it's just a random gmail account, it shouldn't have your contact on it, right?
