Google apps use a lot of memory!

I remember the big thing about KitKat is that it was supposed to cut down on a lot of memory usage, but I'm guessing that's only if you have nothing installed whatsoever, but they can't just stop there!!! Have any of you seen the memory usage of chrome when it's open?! A whopping 250+ MB!!! I've since switched to cm browser, it has a nice clean interface and it's lightweight. I'm thinking about whipping together a lightweight ROM for this phone to help those that have memory problems.

Thanks for the heads up on that browser donjuro. Gonna put it through its paces. So far I like it. I disabled chrome to make sure it wouldn't ever get preloaded into memory while trying CM browser out.

It's unfortunate that Chrome is such a memory hog. I have a Chromecast and I can cast anything playing in Chrome.

i just use the stock browser.
and it does fine.
and i use ram booster. clears up my ram and adds hours to my battery life.

I wouldn't use ram booster, you could be killing processes necessary for the system to function correctly. I prefer greenify because I get to choose the apps that should/can be put to sleep and I can still receive notifications if there are any. And the stock browser is so... Unupdated and unintuitive? I prefer cm browser, runs better, does better.
