HI guys

I bought an android app review magazine today. Some of the apps reviewed are not available on the market such as Google body, swype and amazon app store. It is supposed to be all available in the market. Any ideas?

To get Swype, you need to register for the Beta on their website then wait for an invite.
Google Body, I think, is only available for Honeycomb.
Amazon app store is for US AFAIK.
I stand to be corrected on the last two though...

Pretty sure you're correct on all points.:)

Theres an an android app review magazine? Ha.

Whatever next? I'm off to check cefax.

Probably. It was transmitted in the top two lines of an analogue signal. Do we still get analogue?

Still get it here in Southampton until next year. Which, of course, means we're going to be the last place to get Freeview+

Ah, I remember the days when programming wasn't broadcast 24hrs. When I used to get up early as a kid remember sitting watching the news pages on Ceefax that were shown whilst waiting for Saturday Swapshop to come on.

10 points to the first person to remember the phone number for Swapshop (without Googling)

01 811 8055
Can't even remember my own number without looking at my phone
The Swap Shop number is still etched on my brain
Still couldn't swap my etcha sketch for a stretch Armstrong though

Only in the Welsh valleys I think... mind you I don't think they've invented fire there yet :P

OI! Enough of that, im from the Welsh valleys, (Cwm to be exact, no not clockwork mod :p) and im certain fire is now available, its water thats around the next century, mind you oxygen's only been there for the last year :p

LOL :D

And about old TV, I remember the spinning world on BBC with the national anthem and the guy saying "Goodnight from everyone at the BBC"
Then just the BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP sound.
This was before they started showing Ceefax through the night.

I also remember the UKs first 24hr broadcast.
I think it was Video Jukebox on the brandnew C4.

We used to have an overnight programme called "Closedown", but it was a bit boring.....mainly just a black screen.

Now we get the same overnight TV, except it's called "Teleshopping". The picture has a bit more colour but it's about as exciting as the old show...... ;)

Can you remember the count down clock between schools and colleges programs

Just about. And I can remember seeing the same episode of 'How we used to live' about five times.
We had a Video2000 player at my school that got stolen and given back cos it was too old!

The best thing I remember watching at school was the first space shuttle launch.

I liked look and read the best, especially boy from space. Never had a video though :(

You're all showing your age there, of course I've no idea what you're talking about...

itsy & bitsy...

If not, less exciting.

My mates galaxy S came with swype on it

Swype is shipped as standard on some phones; it's a commercial product that is on offer to handset manufacturers. But it's also available for selected handsets, like the Desire, where the manufacturer isn't paying to feature it as standard. This way Swype gets publicity and fans upgrading to new phones may be swayed to get a phone with Swype featured as standard. I use Swype and it's great!

How big is it? I would like it on my desire but I imagine it can't be moved to SD

It's currently installed to my SD card, and is taking up 1.92MB on the phone. Only issue I have is that it needs to be reselected as an input method after a reboot. Since I reboot about once a month it's not really a biggie...
