Google Drive Convert

[ronjcar]

I am trying to upload some excel documents from Documents to go and I don't get the option to convert them over to Google docs format. How can I adjust a setting so it will let me convert to google docs format. Once it uploads it just gives me the option to open in its native app.
Thanks
Ron

Google Drive is just a cloud storage space like Drop Box. It will store anything you want in the original format. I don't see anything in the description for Documents to Go that mentions converting files.

The Google Cloud Connect plug-in for Office can do what you are looking for.

I don't know if its possible on mobile, but if you go into DRIVE through a browser and go to settings, you can find an option to "convert documents automatically". See if that is checked and see if that works.... I know it works for docs uploaded directly through the browser.
